2ndhomes Tampere "Areena" Apartment

Nice and well located apartment, clean, cosy and all what is needed

Let's start from the beginning. The communication with the hosts via booking.com was perfect, there were no questions open. The key was stored at a restaurant between the railway station and the apartment and after a check of my ID card I got it. From there it was a 5 min walk to the tower with the apartment. It's located just next to the Nokia Arena, but there's also another entrance facing to the street Sorinkatu. However for me the entrance next to the Nokia Arena was more comfortable. You place the key button at the reader at the entrance and you are in. Coming from the Nokia Arena side you are at the 2nd floor, from the Sorinkatu you're at the 1st floor. There are two elevators in place, so you never have to wait long to get one. The aparment itself was comfortable, maybe not so specious like others I've been in Finland, but really enough for the stay. It was equiped with all necessary accesoires one needs for a stay and the WiFi works perfect. The bed was comfortable and I had a very pleasant stay. About 5 min away is a shopping center with two supermarkets inside. Also around the area, are bars and restaurants. The city center is 10-15 min away, so no buses or trams are basically needed. With other words the location was also great. And if you're a ice-hockey fan, than you can crawl to the Nokia Arena :)

There was nothing bad to mention. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the position of the TV. In order to watch from the couch, you have to remove the table to the side. Maybe hanging the TV on the wall would be a better option. But that isn't a reason for me to rate down the apartment.

The apartment is really very small, so they could manage a bit better the equipment, but no worries. Everything in there is alright, easy to get it. Location is great - close to the public transports and the shopping mall as well as to the city center itself. Clean, calm, comfortable, for one person just enough.

The only thing is that MICROWAVE is missing even though there is exactly the space for it! That was a big unpleasable surprise.

The additional fee for late check-in (after 20:00) amounted almost one night's stay!!! With no decent prior notice so remarkable additional fee is not fare and not reasonable. The host would have to think of more time-flexible solution for the key pick-up. Employee servicing us was very kind and caring.

Great location, everything needed available in the apartment, collection of keys was easy.

Parking on street quite limited. Would have preferred to have two keys (need to pay extra for getting 2nd key).

Second time I've stayed here. The room and location are excellent. The city is a 10 minute walk and shopping centres 5 minutes.

Nothing.

The apartment is laid out well with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great as a base to explore Tampere.
