The location and host were very good

The building entrance was a bit shabby

Great location to experience the Marina Grande area in Sorrento. We enjoyed watching the marina activity from our balcony. Great restaurants are within a couple minutes walk. There is a significant uphill walk to get to the main part of Sorrento but we did not mind the exercise. This building does not have an elevator so hauling luggage could be an issue. While we were able to handle it, It was not ideal. The apartment itself had everything that we needed.

The location is simply fabulous. As close to the sea as you would wish, overlooking the quant harbour and beach with an excellent wrap around balcony and breathtaking views. Not far to walk (uphill) into the heart of Sorrento along a lovely winding path past beautiful hotels of a bye gone era, eventually entering into the wonderful backstreets of Sorrento with all its amazing restaurants and boutique shops. It would be difficult to find a better location.

The apartment itself was not ideal for four people due to the way it was furnished, or lack of, and lacked any form of warmth with little in the form of decoration, no pictures on the walls and no information about the area etc. It was also a bit dirty, particularly the shower which was very mouldy and didn't work well - either boiling hot water of freezing cold, the valve clearly not working. The apartment is located on the top third floor which is fine but the entrance from the street was a little dismal. I guess overall, it didn't really feel loved or cared for.

Stay here for the amazing balconies and views of the Bay of Napoli. The top floor unit looks to be going through a renovation, which I assume takes place in the off season for obvious reasons. With the guest turnover, it did seem like they were rushed and the unit wasn't entirely clean. Air conditioning worked great and we loved being in the Marina Grande neighborhood which was less pretentious and felt more of an authentic Italian resident neighborhood than overrun with hotels. Watching the village at night from the balcony was the best - Italy scored an important goal in the Euro 2024 football tournament and we could hear cheers and horns honking all around. - truly immersive.

Besides the overall cleanliness which would seem to be a very subjective thing week-to-week, the only other negatives were the lack of a microwave to help eat leftovers and the local seagulls seemed to make a daily mess of the balconies and outdoor furniture - but it's all part of the immersive experience you get here that a hotel won't get you.

Location

The hosts and Appartment’s location were outstanding. We would return again because of the location. The Appartment was clean and mostly comfortable.

The beds were very comfortable but the pillows were not. There are a lot of steep steps up to the Appartment which we didn’t mind but I do think they need to be mentioned for people who would find them tricky to manage. Also, the bells in church next door to g every half an hour. We found this really pleasant but may not be suitable for young children.

The view was amazing. Good location.

There was no way to dry the washing (it was raining). The towels were wet when we arrived.
