The Oakwood Hotel

The room was freezing when we got there, the heater wasn’t working, moved to different room same problem, put a electric heater in the room, and gave a extra duvet, the one on our bed was very thin, the bed was very uncomfortable, the bathroom very cold, the breakfast truck was not available, like it says in booking, the staff are very helpful and polite, the dinner truck is nice good value,

Bed was memory foam very uncomfortable sheet and mattress protector kept coming off bed duvet cover had rip. Single glazed windows made room very cold no heating in bathroom, lovely sink in bathroom but had to use cup to fill kettle as couldnt fit under tap. Lots of cobwebs and paint bubbling on walls

Room was a bit cold when we arrived but the bar men and the food van were amazing. Would highly recommend for the food alone!

We got a nice friendly welcome which is always a good start to a stay. There was a little bit of confusion about length of our stay butbwas cleared straight away. We was given room 1 which was nice and easy situated between the bar and reception. Overall cleanliness was 10/10 throughout the hotel where we walked around. There was no restaurant as such but a catering van which was nice food just needed to be hotter. The only faults we found was curtains needed to be longer, the shower rail holders needed replacing and the entrance to car park needed more lighting.

The hotel is having some renovations so breakfast and general dining wasn’t good

Was in the middle of refurbishing but website didn't inform you there was no restaurant. Some refurbishing was very basic to needing redoing

No restaurant only out door van who like to have breakfast on a plate

Stay from Friday to Sunday Staff friendly & helpful Room clean & tidy Have no complaints about room corridor could do with a little spruce up & floor boards in corridor very squeaky But overall nice hotel & bar & garden area very pleasant

It was a pleasant stay. We could easily get to where we wanted to go. It was a shame the restaurant was closed.

Very comfortable rooms and the catering facilities were really good. In a good position to visit Wales and surrounding areas. A very pleasant stay. Will certainly be back.
