OYO Hotel Cheyenne Wells - US 40

I have mixed feelings. Our room was very clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the towels were okay, the carpet wasn’t sticky or stained. On the other hand, the bathroom was so tiny that I could barely turn around, and my knees actually touched the wall when I sat on the toilet. The sink was chipped and stained, and the water pressure was feeble in the shower. All of the windows had cracked or broken panes, there was a large gap between glass and frame in one window, and one window simply had a large sheet of styrofoam taped over it. The door and the lock were very flimsy and not secure. So, it was perfectly comfortable, while having a strong “you’d have to be desperate to stay here” ambiance. And it wasn’t even particularly cheap!

Good location at the intersection of two major highways.

Would have left and kept driving had I seen the room before I paid. Perfumey smells like they were trying to cover something up. NOT clean smelling. Sign was not lit up when I arrived, and GPS took me some other way.

OK for one night. An older roadside motel in a quiet small town. Price was good, no real conplaints.

No breakfast option. Only accommodation in town.

The bed linens were freshly laundered.

There was no security. The door to the hotel had no lock, anyone could walk in off the street. The door to the room was flimsy and it looked like it had been kicked in before. It had a simple turn lock and a chain which was broken....no phone, no bedside light. It had a ceiling fan with a naked bulb, no globe or shade on it. The shower was dingy and barely big enough to get in. Just from the looks, we chose not to even shower. When we arrived, (9 pm) there was some cereal set up in the hallway for breakfast. The next morning my husband went out to find the same cereal there along with some coffee. We both opted out.
