Caldera Village

Buffet breakfast was what I expected. It was a busy hotel but always efficient with getting a table arranged for our family of 5. The hotel arranged for our family to have an interconnected room which was great allowing us space and all to be together. Our room had a sea view which was a bonus as we originally had inland view rooms booked.

The lack of entertainment. Entertainment in the evening that would be suitable for the whole family would have been welcomed. There was only a magic show suitable for younger children and Cretan dancing that you had to pay for.

Sicuramente mi è piaciuta moltissimo la colazione per l’abbondanza, la varietà e l’ordine con cui viene allestita. Molto bella anche la stanza vista mare e piscina. E’ un villaggio davvero bello in cui soggiornare con bambini. Ci sono piscine con entrata graduale in acqua dove potersi rilassare di ritorno dalle giornate di mare. C’è persino una piscina con divertenti giochi acquatici! Anche la posizione consente di raggiungere con comodità le spiagge più famose di Creta senza trascorre ore in macchina.

Loved the breakfast daily and fresh food. Pools were great.

The location is hard to walk to from the main strip of shops main road especially in the heat. My opinion is there should be a shuttle every hour or 2 that takes people up and down. pick up can start and go to Platanias to Agia Marina and kato stalos making the experience nicer. This would be good for businesses on main road.

Viihtyisät uima-altaat ja hyvä sijainti. Paljon kivoja ravintoloita lähellä. Rauhallista ja tilavaa.

Aamupalalla kahvi ei ollut hyvää. Huone oli ok mutta hieman kolkko. Uima-allasbaariin olisi kaivannut lisää valikoimaa ruokien suhteen ja mieluiten yksittäisannoksia, ei buffettia.

We stayed here as two families with small children. Unfortunately, five of six of us got sick within hours after dinner at the hotel restaurant. Our 1.5-year-old daughter was the most affected and vomited several times, even at the airport. We discussed the issue with the hotel manager, but it was dismissed as a “viral infection,” which seems unlikely as we had eaten only at the hotel that day, spent the entire day at the beach without meeting other people, and drank only bottled water. Cleanliness was also disappointing – there was mold between bathroom tiles, dust on the furniture, and trash left in a drawer from previous guests. Nice location and facilities, but hygiene standards and management’s response were far below expectations.
