Moxy Edinburgh

Staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. We asked to move rooms after our 1st night as we had no view, other than scaffolding from the back of the hotel on the 1st floor. We were moved straight away to a 3rd floor room facing the road, No moe dark basement feel. Beds were comfy, room is air-conditioned, tea/coffee facility. Hairdryer, plenty of sockets and UHB ports, large TV. Large powerful shower with lovely towels and toiletries. We travelled around by bus (stops outside) or taxi, but a very walkable city. Tesco Express nearby. Lobby is very comfortable, lovely bar, tables, chairs, games. Lochrin roof top bar is well worth a visit, gorgeous cocktails served by friendly, knowledgeable staff......and the view....😘

Motion censored light under the bed, which comes automatically and the only way to turn it off was to position something in front of the sensors. It's good safety idea, but rubbish if one of you needs the loo during the night and the light wakes the other person up. Pillows were feather and way too soft, but that's personal preference. No drawers for storage, very modern wall cage design with hooks and pockets. Approx 6-8 hangers. Large seat/ side table on one side of the bed and a small on the other, so not anywhere to put my stuff.One other chair. Breakfast had a good selection for meat eaters, with a nod to veggie/vegans. Alpro yoghurt , oat and doya milk. No pastry options wete vegan. Only specific hot vegan option is sausages or baked beans, sausages you have to ask for, but cooked in good time. Baked beans were available, but as we find in most places other guests manage to get scrambled egg in with the beans. The only way to avoid this is to be down for breakfast at 6am or ask for some more. I don't like to have keep asking for something which I think should be an option, there are lots of people who follow a plant based diet. Whether through personal ethical choice or religious reasons.

Location great! Comfy beds and very clean! Couldn’t fault cleanliness.

Breakfast was not the best, and not many places to sit for it. Bar service was slow (due to one poor girl on the bar on her own on a Sunday! Not her fault!)

Camera funzionale, spaziosa quanto basta per un weekend e pulita. Ottimi i servizi, molto bello il rooftop bar. Posizione comoda a pochi minuti a piedi dal centro.

Staff, breakfast and facilities

Stayed here with my 14 year old son. The hotel itself was clean, modern and the staff were friendly. However, during our stay there was a Pride event taking place. As what appeared to be the only father and son pair in some of the public areas, I felt uncomfortable on several occasions due to the attention we seemed to attract. I’m sure no offence was intended, but I felt self conscious and not entirely at ease during parts of our stay. This is simply my honest personal experience and may not be something that would affect other guests, but it did have an impact on my overall comfort level during the visit.
