Extremely disappointing experience. During Family Weekend in Gainesville, management took advantage of the high demand by forcing customers to book far in advance at rates exceeding $1,000 per night. Just one week before the event, they slashed the prices to $500, yet refused to honor the lower rate or allow cancellations. This is not only unfair but shows a complete lack of transparency and respect for guests. To make things worse, we woke up covered in bites on our legs after sleeping in the room, raising serious concerns about the hotel’s cleanliness and hygiene standards. Management’s behavior was unacceptable and far from what anyone would expect from a hotel charging these kinds of prices.

Really bad experience. During Family Weekend in Gainesville, they “forced” customers to book in advance at rates over $1,000 per night, and just a week before the stay, they dropped the prices to $500. They offered no option to cancel or adjust the reservation to reflect the new, lower rates. On top of that, we woke up covered in bites on our legs after sleeping in the room.

"Tip Jar would be nice"

The hotel is new, clean and comfortable. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because they took away the tip jar from the breakfast service area. The staff in the breakfast service area was exceptional and they deserve to receive tips. The front desk said they have to keep the tip jar in the back (in the kitchen) which means no one will leave a tip ( although we did). Please Hampton Inn, put the tip jar back where it is visible.
