Nice clean hotel and safe
It was a great stay.
What a walk down memory lane! The last time I was here was as a college freshman with my family, and it is just as I remembered (quaint, friendly, comfy and perhaps the same old rocking chairs on the porch). Now that I’m a senior (I’m not talking school-age here), it was a very nice experience. I really connected with the manager, who grew up in a town adjacent to mine where I rode my bike to the popular pool, went to a university across the street from mine, and also spent time in the same industry. We enjoyed delicious meals at nearby restaurants, had terrific ice cream sundaes at a small shop just a block away whose owner was from the city where I went to college, and walked on the boardwalk to the Asbury Park Convention Center during tropical storm Ophelia (a wet, but fun stroll...pix to prove it). We shall return, given the opportunity.
The Quaker Inn is in a great location. It is very old but maintained. The carpet is very outdated. We had a pleasant stay but it would have been better if it included breakfast. Also my sister was flying in and had a family emergency and had to cancel within the last week and she wrote at least 3 emails as well as a post on FB requesting a credit or partial refund. All requests were unanswered.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was small but cozy. Curious that the wall color was baby blue. Also, just a suggestion to owner, the overhead light was a glaring blue/white. A warmer color bulb would help to make the room a little more inviting. Although there was a small dresser in room a folding luggage stand would be helpful.
Super cute 3-story Victorian-style inn with friendly staff (Jerry!), excellent location close to the beach, restaurants, shops, and all Ocean Grove and Asbury Park have to offer. Very comfortable room with 2 twin beds, good, large bathroom, and multiple porches and balconies for relaxating. They offer beach towels and umbrellas too! This is a must stay!

The Inn was more than I expected, very well maintained. Jerry was very nice and helpful. There was daily chocolate chip cookies and coffee. Beach umbrellas, towels and chairs available for our use. Lovely rocking chairs on the porches to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. Each room even has a fridge.
