Bellyard, West Midtown Atlanta, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Great vibe, location and service!! Rooms were super clean and beds were comfortable. Restaurant was top shelf as was the service. You can tell the staff cares about the customer experience!!

What I liked about my experience at the Bellyard was that not only did I get enjoy a five star Hotel, but also being enjoy our black/Ebony exquisiteness of my people. OMG!!! Not just of the visiting people, but the people that worked at the hotel

Over priced

I’ll start off by stating that the Bellyard has been one of our favorite hotels in Atlanta since it opened. We live in town and are regular guests at the hotel. While the customer service hasn’t always been perfect and they’ve moved through a number of staff members over the past few years, we love the location and the hotel décor and amenities and we are often upgraded with my Marriott Titanium status so we’ve made it our go-to hotel for staycations. My most recent booking changed my opinion of the hotel completely. I booked the hotel a month ago for a Saturday night stay so we could do the Santa brunch on Sunday morning with our child and take everyone out for a special night in West Midtown. I used a Marriott Nightly Upgrade Award and the request was honored 3 days in advance to upgrade to one of their Junior Suites. I checked in 24 hours in advance successfully and noted my noon arrival time. I arrived at noon on Saturday to check in and they told me my room wasn’t ready yet but it should be ready by 3pm. No big deal. I went back home to pack up the family and came back around 5pm, paid the $30 for parking, and went to the front desk to check in. When I got to the front desk, they told me my room was no longer available and that they had booked me at a Kimpton Hotel several miles away. I had paid over $400 for the Bellyard and the Kimpton was $165/night. He wouldn’t offer a comparable suite like I had been given at the Bellyard and we wouldn’t get a late check out or any of the benefits of our Marriott status since it was a different hotel chain. Hardly equivalent. The front desk agent told me there was nothing she could do. I kindly asked if I could speak to the manager. When I spoke to the manager, he told me they had some water damage several weeks ago and intentionally overbooked the hotel knowing the rooms weren’t available but hoping/expecting they would have a number of no-shows. Once they didn’t have any no-shows, my room was no longer available. I asked that he put me in a comparable Marriott hotel such as the Epicurean and he told me that no rooms were available. I showed him that there were rooms available there and asked if he could book me a room there but he told me there was nothing he could or would do. The only option was the $165/night Kimpton. I declined the offer and took my wife and crying child back home across town. I reached out to the hotel directly to request compensation per Marriott’s “Ultimate Reservation Guarantee” and even tried to contact the GM but nobody has responded 2 days later. I think it’s either poor management or greed that this hotel would overbook rooms like this and walk a customer without offering an equivalent option or following Marriott’s T&Cs. I would be wary booking here if it looks like it could be close to full occupancy as they are likely to overbook rooms and leave you out of luck. I hope this review helps prevent a similar issue from happening to someone else.

We were visiting Atlanta for several days. We wanted to visit with family as well as do some sightseeing. The hotel is located close to everything. Nothing is more than a 15 minute car ride away. I love the open feel of the room. The beds and pillows are perfect for my finicky back, so I was able to get some good nights of sleep while there. I also loved having a filtered water dispenser on each floor as well as bagged iced ready for each guest. There is also an onsite bar and restaurant called Drawbar. The decor is very welcoming and I saw many people having work meetings during breakfast. It was very nice to see how accommodating they were to their guests. They also have a beautiful terrace with very comfortable seating. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to just relax and unwind when they need to and also be able to get work done. The hotel also has a French Cafe for quick coffees, espressos or pastries. This hotel is very well thought out...

This was my first trip to Atlanta and this hotel gave me the best first impression. The room was immaculate upon check in. The bed was the perfect firmness. The hotel is 15-20 minutes from everything we wanted to see. Parking is effortless. They also have a valet service. We were able to walk around the Interlocken area in the evening. The weather was perfect and we felt very safe as two women walking in the evening. Zee at the front desk was very helpful getting the portfolio I needed. The on-site restaurant run by Chef Chris was amazing. Our servers, Brianna, Tarik and Verick were all very kind and accommodating. We even ran into the GM, Brendan and the Director of the Front Office, Lakeisha. They were beyond welcoming… They have made my first trip to Atlanta unforgettable. It was perfect!

We booked the Bellyard for our family of 5. I called to make this reservation and reserved 2 rooms that connected. When we arrived, we were told that we had rooms on 2 separate floors. We had 3 children ages 7, 12, 13 and that is why we reserved connecting rooms. We would have never chosen to stay at this overpriced hotel if we were not going to be provided with what we reserved over the phone. So we had to split up our family and make do with one group being very far away from the other room. This was not ideal at all considering we were traveling with our children. This whole experience is making us question about having a Marriott Bonvoy credit card. The customer service at the front desk did nothing to remedy the situation and just said sorry we can't provide you connecting rooms or rooms near each other. The hotel is overpriced for what it is.
