Property is very nice. Ceiling looked like it was in the midst of a renovation but everything else in the room was nice and clean. They added a personable touch with my name on the TV screen (which is always nice). I would definitely stay at this location, again!!

I’m currently staying at the Bellyard Hotel Midtown Atlanta. Hoping this review changes but I am not experiencing “boutique hotel” or 4.5 star ratings during my stay so far. Yes, the design and ambiance of the hotel read “boutique” but the service leaves something to be desired and some of the food items my husband and I have tried are meh. First, the wait on the food and food service is incredible. On Thursday, just before lunch rush starts, Drawbar was barely filled but folks waited forever for drinks, checks, etc. There was only one server for everyone there and this is college graduation season, Atlanta Jazz Fest, etc. Although it wasn’t busy busy, there was an obvious need for better coordination and more help. The lemon pepper wings were very salty but the peach pecan salad was excellent. What I’ve also learned is there is not cross-training on general information. We chose in-room dining for dinner. The person taking orders over the phone could not answer questions about the menu items, “like how does this item come?” They had to grab the chef out of the kitchen for that… a 15 minute wait to answer that question and that was after being placed on hold for 10 minutes. Blown away. They also do not provide estimates on when your food will arrive to your room…not good business. We fell asleep waiting for our food (the room is very comfortable so that’s a plus). When the food arrived, we only cared for the Fried green tomatoes. The mac and cheese was tasty but the bread crumbs were overpowering and we didn’t prefer the prime rib bone marrow. It had an unpleasant smell and it was very salty. The issues with unhelpful staff continue today with the front desk, who could not answer a question on how much the service charge is for in-room dining. The attendant’s reply was, “I don’t know. I don’t work in the kitchen and the kitchen isn’t open right now.” Anyone should be able to answer that question. This place gives Well-Appointed Lazy. Unless something changes, this will be the first and last stay for us.

Wow. It has been a long time since I’ve been at a hotel that felt like it was 5 stars. I travel for work quite frequently during the year and I always stay at Marriott properties. Typically, within my price point, I’m getting a pretty standard hotel room. Even when I stay in Marriott properties for personal travel, and I’m paying upwards of several hundred dollars for “deluxe rooms” and “junior suites”, they do not even look and feel half as good as the rooms here. The Bellyard blew me away. I’m going to list the pros: - The room is absolutely gorgeous - bright, open, and still modern with ample storage space - The pillows are plushy and actually act like a pillow. Almost all hotel room pillows are disappointing to me as they’re too soft. I loved these pillows and got such good sleep. - Shower was hot and I loved the dual shower head set up. - Location is great, there is a lot to eat in the area without having to take a Uber or public transportation elsewhere - Really large lobby where you can wait if you have a late flight - Full bar that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner - Excellent front desk service - Water refill stations on every guest floor with candy This has been one of the best hotels that I’ve stayed in in a long time. I am definitely recommending it to all my colleagues for their next conferences in Atlanta.
