Sophia Castle View

This intimate cave is perched right on the cliff with a spectacular view of the caldera. The jacuzzi was so relaxing after a day of walking and touring. It's also protected from the wind. The rooftop apartment has an enviable view of the sunset with a private balcony. We loved the service and location.

The porter didn't arrive to take our bags on arrival so we had to carry our suitcases up and down cobbled lane ways to reach the room. It wasn't a great distance but we were already exhausted from travelling. The room doesn't have any coffee facilities, only 1 wine glass, 1 champagne glass, limited kitchen utensils and a flimsy bottle opener. Jacuzzi was dirty on arrival and cockroach in bathroom.

We fell in love with this gorgeous hotel in Oia, Santorini – perched atop the caldera with breathtaking sunset views. Though cars can’t reach the doorstep, the staff promptly collect your luggage from the drop‑off point. The room exudes authentic cave‑house charm and matches the photos perfectly—spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed. The team was incredibly helpful, swiftly accommodating all our requests. The iconic blue‑domed churches, shops, and eateries just a short walk. There is a small castle nearby where you can get a 360 degree view

The location is fantastic—just a stone’s throw from the iconic castle of Oia. In the mornings, you can even hear traditional Greek music, which adds a lovely, authentic touch to the experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to help. The only downside is the number of tourists passing by, which means you might overhear conversations while relaxing in the hot tub and taking in the breathtaking sea views. However, the overall experience at Sophia Castle View more than makes up for it.

The location was amazing to watch sunset. I went before busy season. Walk was t too bad. You cannot reach the room by car- so you need porter or need to carry bags a little always. Very clean- shower doesn’t have a door- so bathroom floor was a little wet . I struggled mostly with communication- because there isn’t a front desk so hard to ask for replacement items. But overall very happy with it!

Our Sophia Castle stay was wonderful, easy to reserve. Chrysovalandis was an amazing host, he picked us up, took us to the place, provided plenty of information as to what to do and where to go. He was very attentive. Everyone that worked at Sophia was very helpful.

Amazing small hotel with the best views and little private balcony to watch the amazing sunset. Many tourists rush to get to this part of town to see the sunset and cram through the little walkways. I just had to go out on my balcony…with a free bottle of wine from the hotel and catch the amazing sunset from my balcony
