Hotel Yeon

We hadden hiervoor vooral hotels waar je zelf moest inchecken, waardoor er weinig persoonlijk contact was. En op straat was er ook al weinig contact met mensen. Juist daarom was het hier een zeer welkome ervaring dat er wél personeel aanwezig was bij aankomst. Dat gaf ons echt een warm en gastvrij gevoel en maakte voor ons een groot verschil. De kamer was erg mooi, leuk ingericht en schoon. Daarnaast was er een analoog gastenboek met allerlei leuke materialen om in te schrijven of te tekenen, wat een bijzonder en gezellig detail was.

Het stadsuitzicht viel helaas tegen en was minder bijzonder dan we hadden verwacht.

Had a comfortable stay here in a very convenient location in Seogwipo. The Cheonjiyeon waterfalls are walkable from the property. The staff here are excellent- extremely helpful, friendly and obliging. The room has a lot of unique elements- vintage decor, LP albums to play, a smart wardrobe that steams/irons your clothes. The view from the balcony was really nice- overlooking the Seogwipo harbour/pier area. The room was very clean, and daily housekeeping was good. The breakfast provided every day was a nice idea- in a cute basket with the requisite cutlery and dishes. They have parking as well- though can be a bit tight sometimes, and you need to be good at parallel parking too. Overall a nice stay- we really liked and appreciated the staff especially.

There are a few aspects that could be improved: 1. Our room was ocean facing, but unfortunately was on the lowest floor and overlooked the parking lot as well. Privacy was slightly impacted as a result- people passing by could see into our balcony easily. You should try to ask for rooms on higher floors if available 2. While breakfast was good, some basic elements were missing- such as salt and pepper for the boiled eggs, or sugar for coffee. We would definitely have received these if we had asked though 3. The sink in our bathroom would not drain properly. We asked the gentleman at reception to help us with this and he did very kindly tell us how to solve for it (press the drain down)- but the issue kept recurring throughout our stay 4. The bathroom does get wet when you take a shower- as the dividing wall is not long enough- perhaps they could fit in a door? Overall the stay was very nice, but these few improvements would have made it even better!
