avid hotel Lexington - Hamburg Area

Everything about this was easy—easy to book, easy to find, easy on the pocketbook, easy check in. The bedding was comfortable and everything was really clean. This was my first visit and I will come again!

Location was very convenient with plenty of dining options close by. It is right off the highway, perfect for our first overnight stop on a cross country trip.

There was no one at the front desk for 5 minutes at check in. We called the number on our booking. Some SOMEWHERE (corporate?) tried to get someone to the desk, but there was no help. Another couple came to check in. The woman checked the back room, kitchen area, laundry room, nothing. She found a number for general manager and called that. Someone finally appeared at the desk after nearly 15 minutes and said he was in the bathroom? Doubtful when he appeared as soon as the general manager called his cell phone. He didn't give us details for breakfast, wi-fi, anything. Room was 76 degrees when we got in. The thermostat was broken so putting it on 71 resulted in our room FREEZING, had to play with that for four days. No freezer in refrigerator, and the refrigerator was like 12 x 12, could barely fit 2 bottles of water in there. No microwave. Barely any space around the bed. We found random hairs in bed the first night. We ran out of body wash in the shower on day 3 (only 2 people in room so it was almost empty when we checked in I guess). There were days there was no juice, no coffee, or no pancakes for breakfast and people were waiting. Staff was not helpful when informed the breakfast was failing. Couldn't find a luggage rack for our large items when leaving the hotel.... it turns out the staff were using them all (at check out time!) to cart around cases of bottled water for themselves. We asked for a receipt at check out and person at front desk said she didn't know how to print a receipt? Terrible hotel. We've stayed at dozens of hotels over the years and never had any issues when doing research on where we were staying ahead of time. Avid was TERRIBLE. We won't be back.
