Riad Almazhar

Had a wonderful stay! Beautiful riad, easy to find.

We arrived late to this Riad and they were very accommodating. We had requested the Riad to arrange for a driver to pick us up from the airport and that worked out well. We recommend that service. The room was very comfortable and nice. We slept well on the extremely comfy bed. In the morning, breakfast and service was wonderful.

Staying at the Riad Almazhar was our first experience in a riad and first experience in Morocco. When we entered the Riad, we would not have been surprised to find a Pasha lounged on one of the couches drinking mint tea. The owners have done an excellent job of maintaining the unique old-world beauty and mystery but combining with air conditioning and modern bathrooms. Everything was very clean, and service was good. The Riad is in the Medina, but off the beaten path and pleasantly calm and quiet. The Manager was happy to recommend excellent meals and entertainment within walking distance, or short taxi rides. We highly recommend the Almazhar and will certainly stay there the next time we return to Morocco! One important thing to note. Don't rent a car for your stay in Rabat if you're staying in a Riad. The Almazhar is in the Medina, and no cars are allowed. There is on-street parking about 1/4 mile away, but it's first come, first serve basis. We should have rented car when we left Rabat. Make sure that you contact the Riad beforehand for actual street address, including cross streets. Since Taxis can't go into the Medina, they will need to drop you off at the top of the street and you'll walk to the Riad. It is a very safe area! We stayed in several Riads while in Morocco and loved them all. The only issue is that none had elevators, and most rooms were upstairs. If you have old knees like we do, you will want to request ground floor rooms. We highly recommend the Almazhar and will stay there the next time we return to Morocco.

The list of failures with this Riad is so long, that our simple advice is that future guests look elsewhere. From our arrival and check in experience through to our departure the Riad failed in every respect.

The property manager/owner (Aziz) and his wife went above and beyond to help us. Anywhere from arranging tour guide to help us getting local food. Amazing team. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed at this lovely riad for one night. We were met by the owner Aziza who was charming and made us feel very welcomed. Our room on the top terrace was spacious, clean and modern with a Moroccan flair. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The modern bathroom had a large shower with great water pressure and lots of hot water. The nice breakfast was served in the courtyard along with fresh orange juice and coffee or tea. The location was very good and walkable to the main areas in a few minutes. It was pleasure to walk into the calm spaces of the riad after a day in the hectic medina. Aziza helped us getting our train tickets to Tangier which was much appreciated. We had several conversations with her and found her to be the perfect host. She and her husband have worked hard to renovate the space into a lovely riad. We would definitely stay here again and recommend the Riad Almazhar.

We loved our stay at Riad Al Mazhar! The entire staff was so kind and helpful. They served a beautiful breakfast and yummy tea & pastries when we arrived. It is in the perfect location and the hotel will book you a ride to/from the airport, if you ask. The room was beautiful and bed was comfy. Highly recommend.
