Luxurious Sunset Hotel in Kumasi

When we arrived the hotel looks like a palace the eating area large and we saw 3 types of rooms single 40 usd double 52 usd and double deluxe 75 usd we loved the 75 usd it was the largest room space over 600 sq ft and clean king sized bed big bath and shower

So I stayed in this hotel for a week and decided to recommend it to a friend as a place to stay for their honeymoon. I then went ahead to make the booking two weeks prior to the event. A week to the honeymoon period, I called again to confirm that the booking was still intact and requested that an extra day be added. And they agreed. Two days later, I get call and am told my reservation has been cancelled by the hotel because they now have a larger group that would need the place during the same time period! It is barely four days to the time the room is needed and I am now frantically making calls for an alternative hotel. A great disappointment after I had recommended them. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone!

We had a family holiday stay for 23nights. Accommodation was good enough for kids to run around at a fixed price through out our stay. Unlike other hotels where room price is in dollars which tends to fluctuate often, Sunset room price is always in Ghcedis which gives you peace of mind in terms of financing your stay. Staff overall are very friendly which is natural when it comes to Ghana being a hospitable country. However, management seems too serious and rigid when talking to staff. Some even don’t acknowledge guest presence when passing by to say even hello.This unprofessional and arrogant. The area of improvement which need attention are: -Restaurant staff always misunderstood food request especially breakfast. They ought to write request on paper to avoid serving guests with wrong food order. -Mosquitoes are serious setback to this hotel from sunset till day breaks. Rooms are surprisingly free of mosquitoes. The surroundings are always evaded by these insects to the extent that one cannot simply have a beer in the room balconies let alone by the pool side when dark falls. Reception area is not spared either. Management must spray insecticide on hedges and small trees in the compound and round fence walls on frequent basis. Over all we enjoyed our stay and kids were very happy to use the swimming pool.

We stayed at the Sunset for three nights and just loved the place. It's clean, wifi is free and fast, breakfast very tasty and well assorted, beds comfortable. What we liked most was the fact that it's frequented by Ghanaens. During our stay there were business meetings held, a wedding party and a photoshooting. The pool area is lively with many local visitors. We had dinner once which was very good, but took quite long to be served. Our room was on the 4th floor offering a nice view over the premises and Danyame. The staff was friendly and efficient. Top marks for this nice hotel.

I think the hotel is well located however the hotel had at least two warnings with one which read something like if you break this glass it costs 1200$. This warning was in the bathroom.I later found a warning at the reception which i cannot recall what it read like but it was not pleasant. I think these two warnings left me a bit concerned. The dining arrangement was also not all that good as they prepared the eggs in bulk.

Sunset Hotel is located in a serene area in Kumasi. The staff of the hotel are very polite and helpful, always ready to assist. Assorted breakfast, i love their jollof rice... Clean rooms!! You can have access to international TV channels like Aljazeera, France 24 CNN and local TV channels. You will love your stay!!

Nice building with neat rooms but hot water system is poor. Stayed here for three days without hot water. I also requested for extra sugar from a waiter during breakfast n he complained to me he was nearly sacked for given me sugar de previous day so he can't. I ve been staying at dis hotel for years but am disappointed at their customer service.

As a military personnel from the British army I travel a lot and seen best of hotel rooms but I should say sunset hotel put me to sleep in no time, could do with a third pillow. Food was great I salute the chef and the restaurant clean and well presented, pleasant staff and well cultured. Hats off to management. Will certainlyl recommend this establishment to follow comrades. Col Sanni Thomas

This hotel was great on the surface because it was clean and good value. What really made this hotel were the staff, they really do provide an exceptional service to the hotel and the guests. They go out of their way to ensure the customers are happy, which was why I was shocked to numerously hear management shouting and disciplining staff during the breakfast service. It made breakfast very uncomfortable, this lady who did this to the staff made them look very small in front of guests which would put me off from ever returning to this hotel. The staff made it, if only management were able to realise this. I'm very sad to say I won't be returning because of this reason.

Stayed at sunset hotel of a medical mission and was really impressed with how nice it was. It's what I would guess is a luxury hotel - I would never have guessed Kumasi ghana would have luxury hotels especially when I was there for a medical mission - but it was clean and felt very safe. The staff was friendly and wanted to be helpful. The best part was free breakfast - delicious and hearty western style meal of toast, eggs any which way, porridge, sautéed veggies and beans not to mention coffee with EVAPORATED milk (yum!). Would recommend but beware - on Sunday's there's a loud music party until about 10 pm in the courtyard by the pool which can be quite difficult to nap through.
