MainStay Suites Carlisle - Harrisburg

The hotel was very clean. The decoration was “happy” and modern.

I have stayed in 18 hotels in the past 21 nights. The Mainstay in Carlisle, PA was one of the least expensive, and by far the best experiences. The GM, Jessica should be managing a Ritz- Carlton next.

EVERY DAY, between 4pm and 4 am I dealt with cigarette smoke coming into the bathroom, via the exhaust fan. I verbally told the front desk 4 times, and Emailed once. It was my first and last stay there.

TV doesn’t work properly. Very heavy bathroom barn style door off the track and inoperative. Noisy neighbors. No one at the desk to check me in when I arrived at 5:30. No dining options nearby.

We had a prepaid reservation with the hotel and arrived at 10pm to try to get the children in bed. Upon check-in I was told that they cancelled our reservation because they overbooked the hotel that night. They handed me a curt letter from the manager saying that I would be refunded. We were not notified of the cancellation until we were in the lobby. It seems as those from the escort service were readily given rooms, and we suspect that we were bumped due to higher rate payout than what we had paid.

Great hotel, friendly staff, clean rooms. The bed was particularly comfy. The only negative was the wifi, which was unstable and slow.

Great staff. Clean rooms and property.
