The apartment was lovely! I had asked if there was a wheelchair available a few days before we checked on, and was very grateful when one was provided on the day we arrived.

The afternoon we arrived was lovely and sunny. However, that night it start raining and blowing a gale! The awful weather continued the next day. The air-conditioning really struggled, and the rain actually came in, leaving the backs of the curtains and window sills wet. Obviously, there must have been a lot of gaps around the windows! It was an exceptional weather event, eventually classified as a tornado we believe, so it probably only becomes an issue during such extreme weather events.

The room had a complete set of useful tools, a binder with some contacts and suggestions of things to do. Nice welcoming of the house manager

The overall atmosphere of the building felt very off-putting to us. The layout and design felt almost prison-like, with dark walls and a large central column passing through multiple floors. We were also disappointed by how difficult the staff made it for our estheticians to access our room, even after we had already confirmed they were our guests. We had been in other hotels in Cape Town that were more caring of their guests and professionals booked by hotel guests. The experience at the Urban Elephant made us feel as though hotel guests were being treated like prisoners rather than valued visitors. The entire energy of the place was uncomfortable and ultimately a major drawback to our stay.

Good view over the city, good parking.

The double bed in the master bedroom is poor, doesn't fit the overall standard.
