Great place to stay!

The room was nice, but two things went wrong - If we turned on the night lights by our bed, the entire room lit up, and there was no way to control it. Also, there was a window facing the bed that was way up there in the ceiling, and the person at the front desk for our first evening knew how to close the shade, so we slept with a bright street light glaring at us the entire night. I asked the front desk about it in the morning, and they just said the front desk person was new and they did not train her on how to close it. I asked, as a courtesy, that we have breakfast at no charge (since we did not get a wink of sleep because of the window issue), and they said "no." Very disappointing - an expensive hotel and they could not accommodate us for this crazy situation. Not good customer service

A very nice hotel in Toledo, modern and clean.

Cozy, boutique feel.

The hotel was beautiful with a comfortable bed, great shower, and terrific location. I do wish the cooling unit worked better. It got extremely warm in the room.

We had a large beautiful room (#14) but the only problem is it is situated over the atrium where people dine, so their voices can be quite noisy during the day and evening. They have a very nice restaurant with caves to dine in. Our server Eva was wonderful-so helpful and friendly. The reception staff was excellent - Javier was extremely helpful and very hands-on with every detail of the hotel. The air conditioning in our room was lacking - it isn’t individually controlled. So the room was always a little warm for our taste. For a nice rooftop bar experience visit Azotea at the Carlos Hotel. It is non-smoking except in a special area which is so rare in Europe. We really appreciated being able to sit on a rooftop terrace without breathing smoke! For the coldest beer in town, visit the Santa Fe Restaurant next to the military museum.

The room was comfortable, clean and smart looking. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone who asks.

Book ahead so you can get directions from the hotel. Don’t use google maps. It is tricky to find. The hotel is a beautiful 16th century building and protected by heritage requirements. The hotel staff were very helpful

Wonderful welcome, Fabulous old Hotel just off the main plaza. Room brilliant, spotless and excellent beds and bedding, lovely modern bathroom. Restaurant and bar too. We didn’t have breakfast but we did have dinner there and the food was excellent too. Would definitely stay there again. We had trouble finding the hotel so i took a taxi and my husband followed in the car. The cost of that from outside the city was €4.20. Worth every céntimos. The receptionist gave us a map and marked where the hotel was plus a couple of routes to follow as this old place is a maze of streets. Thank you so much for a fabulous 2 night stay.

Only problem, getting there. Call a cab , unless you are able to walk in.
