Out of the Blue

The hostel is in a pretty good location and has its own restaurant. They have a really cozy, beautiful garden courtyard with great music and a very pleasant vibe overall. The breakfast was truly excellent. The crowd here is almost exclusively English-speaking.

You should know that it is pretty noisy. I got the distinct impression that this is a youth hostel. People at reception talk loudly until very late, and the noise carries easily. Plus, you need to keep in mind that the floors everywhere are wooden, so you can hear every single step whenever a neighbor walks down the corridor. Sleeping without earplugs is challenging. I also got unlucky with my mixed dorm room, one guy was snoring incredibly loudly, which made getting any sleep quite a challenge. Overall, it's a good place to stay, but if you are looking for peace, quiet, and rest after a hike, I probably wouldn’t stay here for more than a couple of days.

Um lugar ideal para ficar, se estão à procura de um sítio com todas as comodidades e conforto! Os quartos eram confortáveis, super limpos, arejados, um design moderno com muitos toques açorianos. O pequeno almoço do hotel tinha o trivial, mas todos os dias tinham um prato diferente! Achei formidável ter panquecas vegan! Sem dúvida um spot que podem reservar sem receios!

Property was clean and easy to find. Staff was very friendly and loved their family dinner aspect. Breakfast — which was included, was great as they had cold and hot options which were delightful. For my first time on the island and first solo trip, this hostel made my trip very comfortable and met some lovely guests as well.

The staff were very friendly with all of the guests and made everyone feel very welcome. Family dinners and breakfast were a fantastic way to mingle with other guests and the quality of the food was amazing. We stayed in a private room with an amazing shower. We were so thankful for the cleaning staff throughout our stay. Definitely recommend joining the staff on the daily excursions, we went on the best hike we have ever been on and then to a thermal pool. Poocha was the hostel cat/ queen, we lover her! We could not express how much fun we had at Out Of The Blue!!! Best trip ever, we will be back <3
