Appartamento Al Forte is a full-size apartment set high on a hill overlooking the Northern end of Lake Garda and the Dolomite mountains which tower over it. It has a panoramic view from the lounge and main bedroom. The apartment was very well equipped, and there was a complimentary bottle of wine, as well as a full range of condiments, foil and cling wrap and other such things to make meal preparation very easy, if desired. There are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance. Annalisa lives in another apartment in the building and is very responsive at all times - she is most friendly and helpful. The village of Nago is within easy walking distance, and is small and quaint. The more crowded, holiday town of Torbole is below, and it is about a 5 minute drive down the hill to it (although there were traffic jams in the centre of town in the holiday season when we stayed).

Annalisa's son very kindly carried our suitcases (and I'm sure that she would have done so herself had he not been there - she is that type of person), but be aware that there are 67 steps from the road to the apartment door - this could be an issue for some. The apartment seems to have good central heating, but only a portable evaporative cooler. It might be a little hot on some very warm Summer days, although with its elevation hopefully they are not too frequent.

Views are fantastic. Spacious apartment, beds very comfortable, very well equipped kitchen. Annalisa is a wonderful host - could not be better. Parking excellent. Ideal location to explore the North end of Lake Garda.
