Friendly staff despite a very late check-in.

New beautiful hotel. Appreciate a room Without carpet. Close to the train. Great bar and restaurant.

Definitely will be coming back

The location is great, within quick walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and the Metro. People were as friendly as could be. Definitely 5/5 for how friendly everyone was, especially since I don't look like the typical clientele. Every person I spoke to was very courteous and professional. The rooms were decently large with a full-sized shower. Everything was clean. The flooring seemed like it wasn't completely glued down in some spots. The rooms were larger than I would have imagined, for a city. There was a king size bed, a chair, and and additional couch-like seat. There was a full-sized shower. There was a restaurant and a rooftop bar. Both looked nice, but were very expensive. A few other minor annoyances: The shower had a full sized shower head and a hand sprayer, which was nice. The water pressure wasn't very good though. The soap dish made it very hard to pick up the soap, which resulted in little slivers of soap eventually clogging the drain. The curtains let in a lot of light, and would have been worse had I not brought clothespins to hook them together. A few other good things: There were three elevators which were very fast. Everything was clean and the whole place smelled good. Valet service was fast and friendly, both coming in and leaving. Misc. notes: The coffee maker uses non-standard trays and coffee bags, so don't plan on bringing your own coffee. There is a small mini-fridge which worked well and a safe. The problem: The noise level in the room was completely unacceptable for a room we paid around $650/night for, including parking. There was a decent amount of road noise, cars, sirens, etc. which I would expect from a city. The walls actually seemed ok, as I didn't hear anything through the walls. The doors let in a lot of noise, though, and it sounded like the person across from us had the plague. You could clearly hear high coughing over my white noise generator. There really needs to be better soundproofing of the windows and the doors. The worst part was that there was a terrible knocking noise in room 1128, that sounded like water hammering from old pipes when you run a high efficiency washing machine. It would start around 5:00 - 6:00 am every day, so I think it was related to the water and not the HVAC. It would last until we left the room for breakfast, around 9:00 am. It would also occur in the evenings, but not as often or for as long. I recorded a video of the knocking and let a woman at the front desk know about the problem. She sent an engineer to investigate. She said the noise was definitely not normal. The hotel staff offered to switch my room, which was nice of them, but they officered to either put me right beside the ice machine or on a low floor, which would have just been trading one problem for another. When I contacted the corporate office, they gave me $30 worth of Marriot points. That was a nice gesture -- especially when I didn't ask for anything -- but something more substantial would have been nice, considering the price of the room. Had the room been half the price I paid, I would have probably given it three stars. Had it not been for the noise, I probably would give it it 4.5 stars. If you are a heavy sleeper and noise doesn't bother you, you will probably like this place better than I did.

Rooms were nice vallet parking expensive

We stayed here for a week during a move. It’s next to the HQ, so kept very nice, and although unclear how much is attributable to visiting Marriott personnel, is quite happening in the lobby! We did the suite, with access to the M Lounge, and would recommend both. Staff was pleasant and exceptional throughout; there was also a fairly expansive gym (by hotel standards) that was hardly being used. Seventh State is one of the best places in Bethesda for a drink or a meal.

This was one of the best-value hotels I’ve ever stayed at. While much of it is due to how new it is, everything about my two night stay was great. Beautiful rooms, great furniture, excellent gym, and amazing food downstairs at the stateside restaurant (both breakfast and dinner). Would love to come back soon.

Phenomenal Hotel & Staff. Upon check in, we met Ryan, who was extremely informative & professional. He truly went above and beyond when welcoming us. A bit later we checked out their swanky rooftop Hip Flask which offers tasty small plates & craft cocktails. The bartender (so sad his name slips my mind! but was about 8pm, on 4/29) welcomed us promptly and pointed out we can take our pick of where we wished to sit and if we had any questions, feel free to ask him. Lastly, we enjoyed some delicious pizza and wine at the lobby bar, where Jacob acknowledged us before we even chose a seat, followed by menus and a refreshing glass of water while we looked the menu. We went with pizza, because pizza’s always a good idea, and it was delicious! And last but not least, the next morning, I had a delicious breakfast at their restaurant, and had the pleasure of meeting Weiney. She was very prompt in delivering a fresh cup of coffee, which I needed to get this next travel day started. She was lovely and breakfast was decadent! I know it sounds silly, like “it’s breakfast”, but I promise you, you’ll agree. I really enjoyed seeing their local businesses they purchase goods from, on the menu. Tip….get the English Muffin!!
