I made the booking via Hotel.com and 5 hours after I paid I had an email that I had to pay a £50 mandatory fee for facilities passes at the park. I questioned this as nothing was stated via booking and the price stated was the final price I paid. I had emails from a 3rd party called travelnest and also getting emails from someone asking for £50. The whole booking was a mess. Eventually I spoke to the host and he kept saying its written in the description of this extra charge when I never saw it, he gave me option of paying or cancelling the day before of leaving! I ended up paying as it was too late to book elsewhere. We never used the facilities. When arriving at reception to collect the passes, they knew nothing of it and I explained everything. The receptionist was so apologetic as some private hosts create this shadow over such a highly experienced holiday park with great service. The caravan itself wasnt too bad, however the sofas looked disgusting as had brown stains all over them and stunk. The single beds were not fit for a adult as feet were hanging off! I cleaned what I could before settling in. The shower turned cold after a few mins of hot water! Other than that the location was great. The actual holiday park Hoburne staff were fantastic and service was great. Just be weary of booking through a private host!
