Margiani Studio & Apartment

The property was so chic, everything was so cozy, we had everything we needed, also a little space outside where you can relax in the morning. The host was one of the sweetest persons we interacted with in our holidays. She made us feel so welcomed and brought us a snack for breakfast to taste the Cretan traditional food. Also she was available when we had some questions.

There was nothing we didn’t like. It’s is a bit far from the port, or other locations. But we had a car and for us was perfect.

The apartment was perfect. It was spotlessly clean and so comfortable. Everything we needed was there including sun cream, toiletries and washing powder.

It was a 20 minute walk to the harbour and old town. This didn’t worry us as we love walking but for some people they may need a car to stay here

Very nice studio flat - felt like a little house because of the private entrance through the garden/terrrace. Very well appointed/designed - it felt spacious. Very clean. Plenty of extra towels, toilet paper. Plenty of place for clothes. Had a lot of kitchen utentils - I loved the citrus squeezer (and the oranges and lemons left as a gift). Bed was comfortable. And the outdoor area/terrace was fantastic - huge and very sheltered/private. I liked the location - a very quiet residential area with a rural feel to it - geese and hens in a garden nearby. About 1 km to the bus station, a little further to the 'tourist'/central area of town. No traffic noise, no neighbour noise (except for the geese and a rooster) - I slept well with the window open. Very good contact with owner/manager, always replying fast. Easy self check-in, check-out. Nice welcome gifts and owner came by with some very good local cheese pastry cakes - it all made me feel very welcome.

If you are coming from the bus station in the evening and have luggage, I suggest a taxi - the lighting on the roads are not very bright and the pavement is not easily navigated with luggage mainly because of trees.

Good location. A local market on Weds a few streets away was excellent, too. Very clean and all facility you need. Nice outside space to have meals. Lovely snowy mountain view, too. Owner very accomodating for us arriving early by Ferry. Washing machine was very handy to have. Nice samples of food was appreciated, too.

None. Just a note, less inside space is compensated by lovely outside space.

The apartment is really great. Is the same as on the pictures. It has absolutely everything you need (hair dryer, iron, washing machine, beach umbrella, soap, Netflix) and fully equipped kitchen (salt, oil, vinegar, pepper, coffee, sugar, tea). Outdoor space is really beautiful. There is also parking spot right in front of the entrance. Because of the position of the apartment you can also use Wolt. The host is very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and we absolutely recommended it. It really deserves a good review.

We especially liked these things: • The apartment forniture is nice and modern. • The host is really kind and helpful. She even took us some delicious (and enormous) sweets and fresh grapes. • The shower is spacious. • Quality soap and shampoo are provided, in normal size packaging (I personally prefer them instead of the small "hotel sized" ones). • Free parking near the house. • There's a little courtyard with a table (perfect for breakfast) and two deck chairs. • The neighborhood is nice and seems safe. You need to walk about 20 minutes to arrive to the center.

There isn't anything in particolar we didn't like; just a personal preference about the pillows: they were pretty thick, but we like thinner ones. Another little thing: the WiFi router turn off when you go away, and it takes about 15 minutes to turn on. I would exclude it from the automatic shutdown.

It's a beautiful accommodation and exceeded my expectations. The host was kind and responsive. She allowed me to check in earlier and check out later, which was extremely helpful during my trip. The room is clean, big in size and looks exactly as in the pictures and even better. A lot of things were provided like coffee capsules for the coffee machine, detergents for the laundry machine, and some local sweets in the fridge as well Chrisoula brought some local sweets for me as a welcome gift which was a very lovely touch. The terrace was beautiful and with cute lights during the evening. The location is a bit far away if you are walking like me, but not critical, 20 min to the old city. With a car just perfect!

The room door locks itself so it is a bit dangerous to go to the terrace without the keys, and once you take the keys out the internet is off and conditioning as well.

You can rent that place eyes closed. From the moment you arrive until your departure, you can feel the respect and care the owner is showing you. All amenities are superb. The comfort level is really exceeding what you usually find in rentals. Bed is great, washing machine is super fast, great shower, A/C in the room, lots of space to pack your stuff, treats in fridge upon arrival, Nescafe pods coffee machine with a few pods to start your stay... Great deck as well. We did not see the hosts but they are super responsive if you have any question. They also prepared the apartment ahead of check in time and we were able to move in a few hours early! The place is close enough to Chania's old city (20 minutes walk) and far enough to be in a very quiet spot and very easy to park... a very good starting point to explore Balos or Seitan beaches.

Not being welcomed in person is fine, but the lack of 'house rules book' means you have to figure some things out for yourself, like wifi password (under the modem) and hot water and washing machine turned off on the electrical panel... The fact that you need your keys to turn on electriciy in the appartment means you can't leave while the washing machine is in a cycle, it will cut the power and stop the wash. Also means the wifi stops working and only boots up when you insert the key (booting could take up to 1/2 an hour sometimes, not sure the modem will survive the on/off cycle as it mimics power outages). Little things, easily fixable (maybe keep some circuits off the card key system).
