Very clean

Fire alarm sounded at 9pm . No procedure to follow: only guests in the place. Nobody knew each other. If there had been an actual fire there would have been pibkens . Old house, floors creaked.

The decor was great, there was an enormous kitchen and a luxurious shared bathroom. The bedroom itself was very large with a comfortable bed, tea and coffee-making facilities, complimentary ear plugs and lots of space to store clothes and belongings. I couldn't have asked for more!

The room was cold when I arrived but this was easy to remedy by turning on the radiator. My neighbours in the room upstairs were a little noisy but this isn't really the fault of the proprietor and could easily have occurred in any other hotel or Airbnb premises.

Location & proximity to our destination

Uncomfortable with ID details requests & digital entry systems. No face to face contact with proprietor. At 76 now, this is all very strange. We are used to giving passport details across N. America & Europe but not in the UK, but suppose this is the future.

Lovely room, comfortable bed, lovely shower, good heating.

The bed was comfortable, room was clean and warm which was lovely considering how cold it was outside. For a solo traveller, the space and facilities was more then enough for me. Appreciated the free Netflix and mini fridge too! The staff were also very nice and welcoming. They were quick to help me and responded swiftly to my messages when I needed a fast response!

A very minor thing I didn't like was that some of the buttons on the TV remote weren't working well unless you put extra pressure, so scrolling through Netflix took a bit longer then usual.
