Wuthering Cottage - Central, Stylish, Cosy, Comfy

Nor meals were provided. We were very disappointed that the host had not provided any milk enabling us to have a hot drink on arrival. After a long journey. There were some coffee pods, but we could not get the coffee machine to work. They were three or four teabags, but no other refreshments not even bottled water was provided. Properties I have stayed in before I’ve been very welcoming leaving maybe a bottle of wine or some nice biscuits et cetera. They were a few Of the small little biscuits, you get in a café, provided some ketchup and brown sauce, sachets, and some small packets of sugar, all of which you could pick up at McDonald’s !!!🙁🙁🙁 There was no handwritten message, just a small blackboard, saying welcome to weather in cottage, which I assume is just standard for everybody arriving. Communication prior to our arrival at Wuthering Cottage, from, Lyndsay Was very poor. I had contacted her almost a week before our booking, asking if we could access the cottage a little earlier than 4pm. I was told that she would have to check with the cleaner and get back to me. Two messages later to her from me without response, meant a phone call to her when we had actually arrived in Haworth on the day we were due to start our stay there Asking if it was going to be possible for us to access the property early or not? She had apparently heard back from her cleaner the day before, but hadn’t got around to letting us know.!! I was charged an extra £20 for the privilege to access the property 2 hours early, which I thought was very bad indeed Seeing as how we had been badly, let down by her poor communication Right up till 1pm !!!! On our arrival, we found part of the back gate was broken, and the piece of wood that had broken off, was lying on the steps, which was steep leading down to the back door. If it had been dark on me arrived, we could’ve had a very bad fall. The stone steps leading down to the back door on the step side, and there was no handrail. My sister and myself are both disabled, I am awaiting knee replacement in three weeks time. The climb down to the back door was … challenging!! Access from the front door was worse- steep steps without any handrail at all led down to a very busy main road, with only a partial pavement that wasn’t wide enough to walk along. I’m not sure how people with young children would’ve managed. There was no mention of this in the description of the cottage, and I think it would be very important to include it, as the less able-bodied amongst us would need such information to make the choice of accommodation. Well appoointed, very comfortable cottage. Good location,

Only 2 of us went so didn't use enough to put dishwasher on. No draining board, wooden worktops and only one tea towel, so washing up wasnt as easy to do.

The cottage was lovely and in good condition however could do with a freshen up on paintwork.

When we arrived it was a beautiful night and it would have been nice to sit in the yard but it was really dirty and the garden furniture is well past it's sell by date. There was also some sort of animal dirt in the garden which we picked up when we arrived. The road where the cottage is situated is very noisy. We stayed in the weekend so probably louder than during the week.

The cottage was extremely cosy, clean and well decorated. The kitchen was excellent and the lounge area was perfect for what we wanted. Location was central and close to shops and takeaways. We had loads of space between the three of us with a massive master bedroom. The cottage had lots of natural light and nice mood lighting.

The left hand side single bed was extremely springy and not very comfortable whereas the right hand side single bed was far more comfortable. The left hand single also was extremely loud in the night if you moved around which woke us both up multiple times. The shower in the bathroom was rather confusing and lacked water pressure.

Cosy. Well presented and typical Yorkshire. Would love to live in it 😍

location was excellant for all amenities. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay.

The property was sooo comfy and the family had a great time there.

Lovely comfortable cottage

Parking was difficult, very small space, ended up parking in local carpark. No information on additional bedding for sofa bed . Not enough plates and bowls for the the amount of guests staying.
