Catbird Hotel

I’ve stayed here several times while traveling for work. I love that the rooms are different than a standard hotel room - generates more of an “I just arrived home” feeling than walking into your standard bed and desk setup. The common areas are a good place to hang and the rooftop entertainment area is top notch. All the staff I’ve interacted with are friendly - particularly the bar staff. Overall - great hotel. Will continue to be my top choice when traveling to Denver for work.

Valet service drove my camper van with the handbrake on causing $1200 damage to my brakes. Did I not tip enough? Arrogant manager, idiot valet service ruined an otherwise enjoyable stay.

The staff was amazing!!

Not like any hotel I have ever seen! Upon entering the lobby, or was it really a lobby? It was more like a comfortable with bookshelves and just one obscure cash register for transactions and just comfortable sofas around here and there and very friendly staff!! Shortly after entering, I asked one of the staff, how did the hotel get the name, cat bird and she told me that the name catbirdcame from what’s called the catbird seat at a sporting event… The best seat in the house is called the cat bird seat!! So just in every aspect, including my room, which had a TV rear screen, projected onto the window, shade and more like a apartment a hotel room, to a rooftop entertainment area with a bar, a pool, a small putting green, snacks, and a fantastic view of the city, this hotel was, in my mind, the pinnacle, or the catbird of hotels inDenver😎

Loved staying at The Catbird in the RiNo district of Denver. The atmosphere was amazing! Our room became a complete home away from home with a full kitchen and gorgeous bathroom! Every space had an amazing view whether we were in our room, the rooftop bar Rook or relaxing in the rooftop pool. Another unique experience was watching TV on a wall of windows as the shade lowered for crisp, clear clarity. We were able to stream some of our favorites & our normal channels were also available. The value was beyond belief as a hotel of this caliber I would have expected to spend much more! The staff was friendly, attentive to our needs and the housekeepers went above and beyond to provide an atmosphere homey and safe! The only thing better than our accommodations, the neighborhood and surrounding parts of the city ( which were all easily accessible by walking, train or uber) was the precious time spent with our daughter which was truly priceless! Our room even had enough space to accommodate her so we could have a visit of quantity and quality.

The fitness center has 2 treadmills, 2 Peloton bikes, and weights. I had to adjust all the seat/height settings on bike ( it left black stuff all over my hands) and set up a Pelaton account. It will disturb others if you don't Bluetooth pair AirPods (didn't bring my case down). I didn’t use any of the other amenities offered. If you use stairs in the building, you will have to exit outside no lobby exit. I reserved an ADA room. Nicely decorated and clean. Bathroom was dimly lit. The shower had black tile and curtain blocks overhead light so it is dark. Shower is very narrow. I am 5'6" 142lbs. It felt very tight for me. There is a seat that folds down. Nice plush towels. Some street noise. The morning I was there, the warm items for breakfast were a potato and egg breakfast burrito (very bland) or an egg and chorizo burrito (I didn't have). Black out blinds were nice. Bed and pillow were fine. I was hot and cold all night. Kitchenette would be pretty nice, but if you wanted to cut up any fruit or veggies, the cutting board was like 6x8. The staff person at checkout seemed very annoyed by my question. I was not young or hip enough for this hotel. I was checking it out for one night, but I decided it would not be an option for my 5 night upcoming trip. It is really too bad, it is close to my daughter's new apartment.

The hotel is gorgeous. Love all the art, and the amenities are really neat. The location is fun, with tons of restaurants really close by. I liked getting a token for a free drink at their roof bar, and I was upgraded for free to a larger room without even asking! The staff were really friendly. I also loved that the hotel provided a free breakfast sandwich/burrito in the morning, and then you could order other items for purchase if you wanted. A few things that I think would improve Catbird: 1) Roof access for guests before 3pm: it was lovely outside, I had nowhere to go, I really wanted to read outside without going to a beer garden. But the roof was closed before 3. 2) Motion-activated dim light for the stairs from the loft: If one has to get up to go to the bathroom during the night but doesn't want to turn on a bright light, one has to navigate the treacherous stairs from the loft in darkness. The stairs light is just too bright to turn on when you've been sleeping. I would instead recommend the hotel install motion-activated dim lights that go on when one goes down the stairs from the bed. If you have mobility-related challenges, I'm not sure this is the hotel for you. 3) Better explanation of the projector and the windows: there needs to be a sheet in the room listing how to work both the projector and the window. I had to call about the projector, and I had to ask the front desk about how to raise just the dark shade. The staff is wonderful and very helpful, but there should be better instructions in room. 4) No one cleaned my room the few days I was there. While I was in and out of my room after 9, I was never in there for a very long time, and no one ever knocked on my door announcing room service. But overall, I loved the art, amenities, creativity, and staff at the Catbird.
