FRTraditional house with beautifully designed and maintained garden and pool area with a splendid view across a nature reserve where you can spot birds, butterflies, hares, foxes and even the wild boar which are a key feature of local cuisine. Andrea is a welcoming host and patient with people who try to speak Italian (he only speaks Italian). Clearly the owners have reacted to previous negative comments about lack of mosquito netting (there is netting on a window in each of the three bedrooms) and road maintenance. Access is via a country track and the whole ascent is fine if you take it slowly and carefully. Easy to access Siena and Florence from the house and there are many excellent restaurants in the area. NB it was VERY hot when we were there but there are fans for each bedroom.
We were very happy at Casa Citille but bear in mind its charm is that it is a traditional Tuscan house - not a modern villa. Again, if you aren't happy driving on unmade up roads, this is not the rental for you.
IEWe were a party of 3 and we found the access to the accommodation so dangerous to drive that we did not accept the key and did not stay in this accommodation. We felt we had no choice but to find alternative accommodation.
The location of this accommodation was the worst we’ve ever experienced. It was up a steep, dangerous and narrow dirt road with terrible cuts and holes in the road surface and our SUV car wheels spun as they found difficulty getting traction. There were dangerous hairpin bends and there was a severe drop to the side of road and no safety barrier. The distance of this access road extended for about two kilometres. We found the drive terrifying and we would not dare attempt it for a second time. Access to these premises should only be attempted by a four wheel drive vehicle with a very experienced driver who had driven on similar terrain previously. We believe this accommodation is not in a suitable location to be rented out to unsuspecting tourists . The accommodation itself appeared to be only mediocre and there was no real scenic views despite the location high on the hills in Tuscany close to Greve.
