Room was not clean , not worth

Breakfast was too good

The staff did not look like typical hotel staff, but they were very friendly and helpful. The guy in the kitchen makes delicious breakfast. It was idli, sambhar and chutney and vermicelli upma. I liked it. The rooms had adequate comfort for a short stay. I requested new sheets, coffee, kettle, iron box and they brought me all that I requested. They allowed an hour of early check-in and late check out for me. The lodge is located very close to the US biometrics center. Will I stay here again? I will definitely consider it. It is affordable and in a good location. It has decent amenities.

- I wish they washed and cleaned the sheets after each guest leaves. I requested new sheets. But, the "new" sheet was also off-colored and smelly. Maybe it is the water in Chennai? Or, detergent without fragrance? Or, did the washing machine breakdown? Or, something else...We used our own sheets on top anyways. - I wish the ac cooled better; I don't think changing the temperature on the remote did anything. Really old unit. - Replacing small things like, the battery covers on the tv remote, fixing up general maintenance issues definitely adds the appeal of the property. - The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. I didn't tell them as I figured out that if I tell them, they have to bring in someone to fix it while I am staying in the room, getting in my business. - The seat cover on the commode was broken at the hinges. Saw the same complaint by another guest few months ago and the hotel responded saying that they noted the complaint and they will be taking corrective action. Maybe they forgot or maybe this is a different commode.... - Biggest No-No for me was the drinking water that was provided in the room. It was a 1 liter bottle that had been refilled many times from a water dispenser situated in the lobby. Please never do that. How could I know that someone who stayed in the room before me didn't put his lips on the bottle. Maybe, he/she has some communicable disease. Instead, you could've just kept a clean pitcher in the room and get a fresh fill each time a guest checks in. I used the kettle to boil the water and used it for drinking. Always be cautious of water in Chennai, as a general rule. People have a level of expectation from every hotel they stay in. Doing basic maintenance and keeping the basic hygiene up are some of the things that no property in the hospitality business can skip. In short, Don't expect a "hotel" when you book at Treebo Chennai; this is only a lodge.

The hotel is located on the top floor of a building, which was not entirely clear from the images provided. The bedding and comforter appeared to be unlaundered and showed signs of prior use, including stains. The bathroom facilities did not meet the expected standards for a hotel of its claimed three-star rating. However, the food was satisfactory, and the staff were welcoming.
