California Dreams Hostel - Ocean Beach

Good

This is a great hostel. Everyone here including the staff were friendly And helpful. The staff were always keeping busy Cleaning and keeping things organized. Very Cool.

The location

Too many people (staff of the hostel as well) smoking weed/cannabis and partying too loud:( their TV is LOUD at night until 1-2 am and when sleeping above it it’s impossible me to sleep even with earplugs!!

Simple but good breakfast.

The current employees were not at all friendly. The room cleaning needs improvement. There was a lot of dust under the beds; something of mine fell under the bed and came out with all the dust. The hallway outside the bedrooms smelled of sweat. It could use an air fresh.

Great Location Friendly Helpful staff. Clean. The staff were always working to keep the place nice and assist guest . Shopping and bus lines right around the corner on Voltair st.

What a big difference compared to the Pacific Coast hostel. The people working there, the girls and Thomas were really friendly. The other guys not at all but I don't know what job they did or they were just the boyfriends of the girls. In general a really chill and good vibe with the other people. The breakfast was also a bit better, cereals which were more healthy, bagels with seeds and not just plain ones. A bigger kitchen. So I don't understand how the ocean beach and the Pacific beach have exactly the same score for the review.

The boyfriends of the girls should be more friendly, especially if they also work there
