Duong Chan Hotel

We liked the look of the hotel online but the reality was even better than we’d expected. As we were travelling with our 16 year old daughter we had upgraded to a family suite. It really didn’t cost that much extra when we considered the quality of the rooms we were allocated. It turns out that larger accommodation is located on floor 10 which the hotel calls its VIP level. We were housed in an enormous apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room and a fully equipped kitchen. It was the largest hotel accommodation we’ve ever had, and it was well decorated and extremely clean. The staff in the hotel were second to none in terms of their prompt, nothing is too much approach. All wonderful! Breakfast was good and the hotel is very well located to allow you to walk to many sites in a short time or to get there by super cheap Tuk Tuk. In short, I cannot recommend Duong Chan highly enough. One final welcome touch was that they allowed us to use the spa/gym facilities to change late on our last day as our flight was in the evening. This was most appreciated as it allowed us to have a relaxing last afternoon by the pool prior to our long flight home. Perfect service!

The wonderful staff, beautiful clean property and great food, a wonderful rooftop bar.

The only real criticism I would make is that the room doors when closed from the outside make a crushing noise, so you tend to get woken as people come and go during the night and early morning. Also the internal door to the bathroom also has no cushioning pads so you tend to hear the room next to closing very loudly.

Breakfast was very good. The pool area and other amenities like the restaurant and bar were first class. The staff were extremely helpful and professional, and all spoke very good English which made communicating very easy. Easily the best hotel experience we had after staying at several hotels across a five week Vietnam/Cambodia trip.

The mattress on the bed could be softer for western people who prefer this.
