Bright 1BDR Apartment in the City Center

well-located, good check-in instructions, first floor (very easy to get to with luggage), quiet neighborhood.

When I arrived at the apartment (by taxi-the listing claims there is an airport shuttle, which there is not), laundry was drying in the kitchen and the place smelled like old smoke. I didn’t need anything fancy, and the place was near where I needed to be, so I tried making it work. However, after two nights of my scheduled four night stay, I left. The bed sheets were hot and scratchy and the little air conditioner in the living room didn’t reach the bedroom. Then I noticed dead bugs lining the kitchen window sill. But the big thing was: I woke up the second morning to a smell in the kitchen that was either a gas leak or mice. Either way, I had to leave. My correspondence with the host was fine, but no one seemed to care much that the listing was wrong or that I was leaving early, even if it was for a legitimate reason.
