Booking Urban Halstead

The communication from Urban Booking was excellent. I booked a group of friends in there who were attending a party at Hedingham Castle and they were super flexible in terms of letting me get access and drop some bits in for guests. All guests commented on how well equipped, comfortable and nice looking the apartments were. The access is very easy as its all codes and each apartment has an allocated space (2 for the 2 bed apartment). It is well located. Would recommend for a stay.

Very clean, large hot shower, comfy beds, no keys, all digital coded doors, balcony and parking behind electric gate. Very stylish decor

The only issue we had is finding the apartments, around the one way system

The value for the accommodation was ok. And the check-in and entrance with the code I did like it very much. Is like no receptionist. You don't disturb anyone just press the code and that's it.

I didn't like the kettle. Very old and full of limescale.

Branch of Lidl a few minutes walk away. Shower room spacious; plentiful supply of hot water and toilet paper; toiletries supplied; large towels. Tea, coffee, milk etc supplied along with dish cloth washing up liquid etc Bosch appliances new and efficient. Doors all manageable once the codes were available (but see below)Supplied sheets, duvet cover and towels clean. Our room directly opposite that of our daughter. Assigned parking space for each unit.

We should have been given directions for access to the property. It is located a part of King Street which is one way and access from A120 is not straightforward. I sent TWO emails asking for access Codes to be sent to my phone by text prior to arrival. I do not have email on my phone. We had to wait outside the gate while I looked up the number and spoke to Olivia (?) for the codes . Other traffic was inconvenienced in the narrow road. The codes/key pads worked very well. The decor of "The Coal Store" "Deluxe Studio" allocated to us was depressing - summed up as welded industrial salvage and repurposed factory benches.; plastic plants did not help. kitchen area had charcoal grey units and black everything else. Black mesh blinds on one window only ; lights outside in car park disturbing as was bright green emergency light over main door clearly visible over what seemed to be ex industrial partitions meant to screen the bed. Photographs in room and along corridor were "artistic" BUT showed a depressing collection of abandoned railway stations, mines and factories etc. Furniture - especially cast iron items - neither elegant nor comfortable. Decor of two bed apartment assigned to my daughter ("The station") decorated/equipped similarly
