"Exactly what I needed good space and excellent price"

Spacious and all necessary utilities. Shower was lovely. Wonderful under floor heating

I’d suggest a deeper clean on occasion as I checked under the bed on my way out and there was a frame coated in dust.

"So disappointing we cut short our stay."

4.0

Situated in a pleasant if faded Georgian square; picturesque.

We live in Canada but are both English, so we were looking forward to staying in a historical building with 'elegant' updates and modern levels of comfort. However, far from being 'elegant', the unit is basically situated in a student accommodation building, and so there is much noise from outside the flat but within the same building. The foyer is simply shabby and dirty. Inside the flat, the window frames are peeling and there is cracked paint on the walls. No live TV is available; this seems ridiculous as the cost of a TV licence (the excuse given) spread over the letting year would be pennies per day. The heating is awkward to control and the default setting leaves the flat feeling cold in the autumn. The bed was old, very noisy (!) and small. The mattress was hard and very uncomfortable. The bathroom...a TINY shower cubicle squashes the toilet into a very narrow corner, making the toilet uncomfortable to use. The underfloor heating cannot compete with the icy draught from the window. The (rusty) towel rail does not warm up at all. The whole flat gives a very strong impression of being neglected and not being deep-cleaned on a regular basis. The advertised elegance is hard to find.

Apartment was poorly cleaned, everything inside cupboards and wardrobes were not organized nor clean. Many Kitchen utensils are worn out, there is only a small induction pan, no way to cook… Location and shower are good!

Nice location, very practical setup with bedroom and kitchen / living room area. Check in process was very easy. I overlooked that there was a washing machine and was grateful to have it! Overall it was a pleasant stay.

It’s an older building, so the upstairs neighbors could be clearly heard walking around and sometimes talking. The mattress was also a bit lumpy and could use an upgrade.

"A good hoping off point but the property description is a misnomer"

6.0

The location, great square, gorgeous architecture of the building it’s housed in.

For the price point it was not elegant nor particularly comfortable. The bed requires a new mattress, the shower head needs descaling, the TV didn’t work (Netflix and Amazon required log in details, a minor point as we weren’t there to watch TV but wanted something late on Saturday night), the agent/owner should spend a night there to test it for themselves. A second slim bedside table would be good, with an extension cable to plug items in. The communal areas are reminiscent of student accommodation.
