Central Belfast Apartments: Sandford

I only saw the flat during the check-in, since I booked it for my friends. They were very satisfied with it. As I could see, the apartment was clean, spacious and welcoming. There were some food goodies and a bottle of prosecco that were a nice addition.

The building is literally next to the railway and the trains can be annoying when they cross. However, closing the double glazed windows helped reduce the noise considerably.

Location was excellent and the staff made check in very easy. We had 3 kids with us (12, 2 and 3 months) and the apartment was ideal. Also secure parking was a bonus.We had a few minor issues but when contacted staff they sorted everything for us.

The location is good - close to the Titanic quarter and easy 10 mins walk across the river to the town hall. The apartment is spacious, well maintained, clean and has a lovely aspect. Very nice welcoming touch of wine and crisps. The first night was a 'mare, (see below) but once we had access, a very good property. This will be a fair review of our experience. My overall mark is not a reflection of the property per se - it is really very good; but to ensure those who read reviews (I often read the low reviews on booking.com and take note of any issues) are aware of one essential matter that can cause a guest to be stranded after 5pm without assistance with Central Belfast Apartments.

Confusion over door code meant we were unable to access the apartment on the first night. At about 5.15 pm we arrived and there was NO method to contact the host/provider - Central Belfast Apartments - they clock off at 5pm sharp. An answerphone advises "you may hear from us in office hours". No back up service; no FAQs on a website or any other simple tools/resources to resolve a problem. There are genuine reasons guests need support outside 9am -5pm. Hell, there could be a dead body on the floor of your apartment; or no electricity or even- gasp! - exhausted travellers who don't have access to email at every moment, maybe don't speak English or do not understand the provider's processes. Although the misunderstanding was ours (Central Belfast Apartments used what's app to text a code, which we did have but do not use, and did not a check). Critically, these policies are something the provider did not advise clearly on booking.com and neither do they ensure guests are aware of their post-5pm-no-assistance-policy at the time of booking. I believe Central Belfast Apartments intend well, but they could - and should - do better. For guests who are familiar with Central Belfast Apartments processes, I recommend this property.
