The property was relatively close to many of the sightseeing features of Kyoto. It was secure and provided ample amenities for use, including a washing machine, laundry detergent and kitchenware. This was a late notice booking for us as our previously booked accommodation was unresponsive, making us quite nervous. The overall tone of our stay was ‘It’ll do.” It was affordable, had enough space for our young family, and did the job given we were out and about most of each day. Clear, detailed instructions were provided by reception to access the property and the room key collection, as well as appliances in the space.

I love a firm bed, but these were the hardest beds we’d encountered in our six weeks of travelling Japan. It had a pretty big impact on how we felt each morning. However, property management were accessible by booking.com messages and resolved our request for more pillows on the same day to help support comfort. It didn’t change the bed, but I felt like they tried to help. Many have noted in the reviews the off-site check in process, and it is a bit awkward, and very busy at times, but if you follow all the advance instructions, the support is quite generous with free luggage storage by Kyoto station, the option to deliver luggage to accommodation, and a free shuttle to the property. Time and considering the volume of other travellers is probably the unknown factor and hard to predict, so reception can get quite busy and full. The only other down side was the rubbish/waste disposal, but it wouldn’t affect most short term travellers. Per instructions, we took our full rubbish bag down to the building collection but it was overflowing with waste and was perhaps sign that waste services needed a bit more attention.

Location, easy walking distance or to public transport. Underground, trains and buses were brilliant

Beds a little hard

Lage: Zentral in Kyōto, ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß von der Station KARASUMA OIKE entfernt. Auch Busverbindungen halten in unmittelbarer Nähe. Somit war es problemlos möglich, innerhalb der Stadt in kurzer Zeit die entsprechenden Ziele zu erreichen. Zimmer: Das Vierbettzimmer war umfassend und groß genug für vier Personen. Wichtigster Punkt: Es war sauber. Auch die vier großen Reisekoffer konnten geöffnet und abgelegt werden. Wir haben dazu den Tisch sowie die beiden Stühle und die Sitzbank zweckentfremdet und als Ablagen genutzt. Das Bad war in Ordnung und umfasst alle notwendigen Utensilien (Duschgel, Shampoo, Conditioner, Zahnbürsten, Haarbürsten, Föhn etc.). Die Betten sind bequem. Im Bad befindet sich eine Waschmaschine, die entsprechend der Beschreibung einfach zu handhaben ist. Wer sich unsicher ist, nutzt eine Übersetzungs-App. Daneben ist der Duschraum als Trockenraum vorgesehen. Hier können Kleidungsstücke aufgehängt und getrocknet werden. Wir haben dies Übernacht genutzt und hatten morgens trockene Kleidung. Das war sehr komfortabel. Aufenthalt: Die Rezeption konnten wir anhand der Beschreibung problemlos auffinden. Der Check-in hat reibungslos funktioniert, da wir die Reisepässe im Vorfeld auf Anforderung des Hotels online bereits hinterlegt hatten. Von der Rezeption wurden wir mit dem eigenen Shuttle dann zu unserem Zimmer gebracht. In das Zimmer gelangt man über Karten. Unseren Müll konnten wir im Erdgeschoss im entsprechenden Bereich außerhalb des Hotels im Innenhof entsorgen. Im Zimmer befindet sich darüber hinaus noch eine Beschreibung, wo sich der Ort genau befindet.

Zimmer: Unheimlich kalt. Durch Nutzung des Klimageräts als Heizung konnte das Zimmer erwärmt werden. Diese musste jedoch die Nacht über durchlaufen, da anderweitig morgens das Zimmer wieder maximal heruntergekühlt war. Darüber hinaus gibt es an der Unterkunft nichts auszusetzen.

The property is at a brand new building and in a very quiet , residential and central area of Kyoto. The room was very cosy and clean . Everything was perfect and would stay again for sure . Super close to the shops and main temples and shrines. Amazing small restaurants around as well

You couldn’t open the window and there should be more pillows available for comfort.

Had a noise complaint about my 3 year old walking around our own room at 7ish pm

The room is excellent, you can cook, it is clean and comfortable, everything a traveler needs.

Just the fact that you need to check-in at another place and do it before 8pm
