Great location near the Harbour. Very comfortable hotel with accommodating staff and great emenities. Delicious daily breakfast with plenty of options to please everyone. We loved our nightly nightcap in the Mary Mary Bar.

The Tasman Hotel by Marriott is a beautiful hotel from which to explore the wonders of Tasmania. It isn't a huge impersonal brand hotel but provided us with a home away from home. The team led by Chandra were unbelievably kind, in good humour, very relaxed but across everything, and always with time to chat and genuinely committed to us having a memorable trip. It was actually so unexpected but so delightful and it would be our first choice for the next stay in Hobart. We loved it so much we cancelled plans to stay at other locations in Tassie and spent 10 nights there; doing day drives and short tours so that we could come 'home' to the Tasman. The decor is contemporary and sophisticated but not confronting or overlaid with too much daunting technology; the history of the building also immerses you immediately in part of the story of Hobart; as it was previously the Mary Mary Hospital! The Deco bar and lounge is a cozy sanctuary, and their PEPPINA Italian restaurant is world class with delicious food we could rave about for days. The Tasman is also just a few minutes walk from all of the amenities, restaurants, museums, and shops on the waterfront and the city centre. We walked everywhere knowing that we would also be welcomed 'home' the second we stepped back into the foyer. They are a tight knit friendly team and you can feel their dedication, and passion for being of service in a very genuine way to their guests. The tariff also was unbelievably reasonable for a five star hotel; nearly half what you would pay for a hotel of this class anywhere else! Chandra, we salute you, and we cannot wait to be back! Don' bother with the other options in Hobart, this is THE place to stay and as a very seasoned traveller I can honestly say it is one of the best hotels and the happiest stays I have ever had.
