Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Manitou Springs by IHG

Staff, especially Kim on the evening shift, was friendly and efficient. Kim gave great recommendations for local food and beverage stops.

Location is great. Easy to access. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Kim, evening front desk was personable and engaging.

Room was dim as one lighting fixture was inoperable.

Fantastic breakfast! Coffee was ok. I love that it was fresh ground. It just didn't taste great. Comfy beds. Blinds kept the light out in the early morning. There was a tub vs just a shower. Noise from the hallway a little loud, but usually just passers by, so didn't last long. Great location!

When I arrived, keep in mind a person is usually very ready to arrive and get to bed, the front desk staff wasn't there. I waited and waited, then started to look around, saw a phone on the wall just inside the foyer, so I walked back out one sliding door picked up the phone and it fell off the wall. I spent much time looking like a comedy character trying to get it back on. Got it back on, no answer throughout my ordeal. I walk back in, frustrated at this point and wait some more. I then start knocking on doors that were labeled as - employees only, no answer. I'm frustrated and keep wondering where in the world can this front desk person be. Finally when my frustration is at it's peak, the front desk clerk "magically" appears,sees my frustration and tries to half way console me. Not in the nicest manner, but also not rude. Front desk clerk says, I was only gone for 2 minutes, I say, no, I've been here for more than 2 minutes, thank you. She checks me in, I go to bed....

It was a great place to stay at a good price
