Torrenova di Assisi Country House

Bel posto immerso nel verde… con camere grandi, letti comodi, bagno pure… e colazione buona! Non ci si può lamentare …

Se facesse tanto tanto caldo forse solo la pala non sarebbe sufficiente… Ma per noi, per fortuna, non è stato così.

Accoglienza gentile, stanza ampia e confortevole, ottima colazione, bellissima location. Un po' fuori mano dai vari borghi ma comoda per soggiornare per una notte.

Die ruhige Lage und die Gastfreundschaft hatten uns sehr gefallen. Wir hatten es geschätzt, dass ein Wasserkocher im Zimmer war. Somit konnten wir Tee kochen.

Alles entsprach unseren Erwartungen.

Vriendelijk, attent & zorgzaam personeel. Mooie ruime kamer, zeer uitgebreid ontbijt. Prima locatie om Assisi, Perugia, Trasimeno en Val d’Orcia te bezoeken.

Rooms was clean.

There were many positive reviews that led us to believe this would be the perfect getaway while visiting Assisi. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. At check-in, the reception desk was cluttered with papers and general mess, which created a poor first impression. One staff member appeared to be asleep, while the other showed very little enthusiasm or interest in assisting us. While I do not expect everyone to speak fluent English, communication was quite difficult. Normally, this is not an issue for us, as we have travelled extensively throughout Italy and have always appreciated how hotel staff make a genuine effort to communicate and provide good service. Unfortunately, that warmth and willingness to help was missing here. After eventually checking in, we were informed that the tower (one of the hotel’s defining features) could only be visited by arranging a separate guided tour through an off-site company. We were expected to contact them ourselves and organise a suitable time, which felt inconvenient and surprising, as we assumed this would be something coordinated directly by the hotel. We were also disappointed to learn that the restaurant was closed. As this had been highlighted positively in many reviews. With very limited dining options nearby, we would need to drive 20–30 minutes to find a proper meal. The room itself was clean, but the advertised “garden view” was simply an overgrown area with unkept bushes and weeds. Overall, the experience fell far short of expectations and was disappointing enough that we decided to leave immediately and book alternative accommodation closer to Assisi.
