Badlands Frontier Cabins

The cabin was sweet and comfortable. We sat outside both nights to enjoy the view.

Reviews about the carpet are accurate. They need to be replaced with luxury vinyl I think. We wore our shoes most of the time. This is the only negative thing I have to say.

Loved the cabins with porches! Convenient charcoal grills and picnic tables between buildings, as well as center pavilion was really nice. Room was incredibly cozy and clean. The playground was wonderful for the kids to blow off steam from traveling in a car.

Great kitchen with utensils/dishes stocked. Front desk was super nice and helpful with getting linens for the pullout couch. I think in the town might have had some touristy stops that others enjoy, we only found Dairy Queen as the family friend place to eat, everything else was super expensive and didn't have food for my picky 5yr old (no fault of cabin obviously). We left early at 730am to beat the heat and get to the Badlands to hike, office wasn't open and there were never any breakfast vouchers like others have mentioned, so for $400 for a Friday night, crazy over-priced, I think I accidentally booked it on Booking.com and thought it was something else. I was glad it was only one night.

Location, it's right on the highway, a cemetery on one side, our cabin did face an open empty field that had suburbs on the other side of that, so not really any chance of wildlife, was farther from Badlands then I thought. And the area is just cabins on top of each other, all blacktop, so it was sooooo hot in June when it was 90° out, kids couldn't play on the playground with all the heat off the black top, and there's only a 3ft length of grass in front of the cabin to play on. The one queen bed made awful noise whenever my small 10yr old would roll around at night, the flooring in the bathroom was coming up, only my 16yr old uses the shower and she said it didn't have a good spray on the shower head.

Bed was very comfortable! Friendly staff, very clean, and great location! Close to Wall Drug and the Badlands,but appreciated being on the other side of the highway, more serene, than busy and crowded.

Missing breakfast option and bummed the gift shop was closed Saturday when we left/ checked out.

Nice place to stop and rest for the night

Two issues: 1) The bathtub is extremely slippery and no doubt someone will slip and get hurt. We had to put an extra bath towel on the wet shower floor just to get some traction. For the safety of others, please put down some adhesive traction tape to keep guests safe and for the hotel to avoid unnecessary litigation. 2) I can't speak for all of the cabins, but our bathroom sink did not drain.
