Araliya Beach Resort & Spa Unawatuna- Where you meet the sea all year

Поселили в номер не по категории , внизу под номером на улице расположены огромные вентиляторы (постоянно громко работают ) даже на 9 этаже было очень слышно окно не открыть ! В номере было сломано оборудование кондиционера ,постоянный шум не давал спать ! Спали в берушах ! Номер старый , очень убитый. Еда в столовой (рестораном это назвать нельзя) очень плохая, стулья старые , грязные ! Вечером покушать кроме столовой негде ! От бассейна пошла аллергия по коже ! Очень часто отель продаёт больше номеров , чем у него есть - из нашей компании одной семье отказали в поселении , хотя у них был на руках оплаченный ваучер (номер делюкс). Им сказали езжайте куда хотите и выгнали , они были вынуждены снять номер в другом отеле не далеко , и опять заплатить !!!! Деньги им не вернули !!! Вообщем кошмар !! На пляже купаться не возможно стоят лодки ! Пляж городской своего у отеля нет ! Место где стоит Отель глухая деревня с одной грязной улочкой , погулять негде , стоит просто смог от тук туков!!!

Staff was excellent, very helpful. The view from the room was good. The head chef, front office manager and the Beach bar staff was very welcoming and accomodating to our needs.

For this category and being a 5 star hotel, I have experianced much better luxuary in Sri Lank. The deccor was dated and does not go with the Araliya theme, rather Aliya (Elephant) theme. there was no harmony for a place that is called a resort spa. Need to update and maintain the hotel infrastructure better. Over priced for what it was. Lack of taste in deccor.

The room was very comfortable with a view of the sea. The spa was extremely luxurious with treatments given in one of a number of small cabanas built around a man made lake. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. Fresh tuna was caught and brought onto the beach and into the hotel and beautiful fresh sushi was made available at a very reasonable price.

Lovely location, facilities and staff. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful, a nice reflection of the brand and the people of Sri Lanka. I especially appreciated that the pool is open till 10pm with a swim up bar so when you want to do something but too tired to go out, this was a nice treat. The buggy service to the main entrance was also appreciated as it can get hot during the day.

The space is large and comfortable but does feel a bit.. empty or cold. But this is expected with resort-style spaces. Didn’t dine in so no comments on food or dining.

This is by far the best hotel in Unawatuna, however that doesn't mean they are the best. The rooms are pretty and spacious, food is nice - the beach restaurant area with fresh fish and fruit market was a highlight, it made the experience more unique. The pool is heated to the right temperature to enjoy it at any time of the day.

Hotel staff needs to improve. Most of them speak zero English which made communication very difficult, and even when the spoke some English they were very difficult in accommodating simple requests - one time I asked for a bottle of water during breakfast buffet, they talked to 4 or 5 different people for that only in the end to come and tell me after more than 30min that I had to pay for it. In general the attitude of staff was not very friendly or helpful, and many times they would talk amongst themselves infant of you making faces which was very uncomfortable. The whole beach and pool area doesn´t have toilets, so you need to walk a long way and go inside the restaurant area to use the toilets - very inconvenient. The pool area has only 5 lounge chairs - why? There´s definitely a lot of room for improvement as it is not a cheap hotel.

The rooms are nice and spacious with comfy beds and a nice big bath. The breakfast options I thought were pretty good for such a large hotel and the food in other restaurants also quite good. The location is also pretty good, right at the end of the road to get into unawatuna but a nice walk out either down the beach or along the road with lots of food and drink places close by. There’s also lots of nice wildlife on the hotel grounds which was great!

There seemed to be quite a lot of rules and fussing, had to have a card to get towels for the beach/pool, needing wristbands on at all times, somebody pressing the elevator button for you. All just seemed quite fussy and I think sometimes the staff maybe just need to take a step back and let me finish pouring my own bottle of beer into the glass.
