Hotel Refugio 41

This hotel is an absolute gem! From the exterior you wouldn’t imagine that hidden inside is a small oasis. The hotel looks exactly like the photos on the website. There are 3 buildings with upper and lower rooms that either come with a balcony or patio. All of the rooms have a hammock and face the pool in the center of the hotel. The pool was deeper than expected, about 5 feet, and kept very clean. Inside our room was simple but comfortable furnishings, and most importantly air conditioning! We stayed in June and the AC was perfect. The toilet, shower and electricity all worked great and there was a hairdryer provided in the bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was a bit low but that’s to be expected. We were more than comfortable and couldn’t believe how beautiful the exterior of the hotel was. But the best part of our stay was the incredible service provided by the staff! Jesus especially was the best! Our Spanish is limited and he took a lot of time to explain where to find many good restaurants and things to do in the area in English. He also helped us find a tour guide for our last minute trip to Chichén Itzá and nearby cenotes. He provided incredible and friendly service. Breakfast was also made from scratch every morning by the nicest hotel staff. It usually came with juice or coffee, eggs, toast and fruit. The location is also within 10 minutes walk of the ado bus or a short taxi ride. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Valladolid!

Great place to stay with lovely staff particularly Jesus who was very helpful. Good breakfast & nice pool. Location to the centre was walkable but the position on Google maps was incorrect

Refugio 41 is a magical place! There are only 6 rooms, which we loved very much. There is a great breakfast which you get served at a large table (we got to know other lovely hotel guests during the breakfast). Although located in the city you feel like you're staying in the jungle. Jesús was an amazing host!

A wonderful hotel in the center of Valladolid. Jesus and the staff in general were super helpful and they go above and beyond for their guests (i .e. Recommendations, breakfast, etc). Everything is in walking distance and it's a really nice area. The facilities are clean and well maintained, overall a perfect place to enjoy Valladolid and to visit the temples, cenotes around and to explore the city. Thank you again for making our stay so special!

Hidden behind a very plain old doorway is a beautiful retreat The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is far beyond “continental” with incredibly tasty dishes.

Wow what a beautiful location, the hotel is set in a renovated colonial building in a beautiful huge garden. There’s wonderful bird song all the time and lovely breeze through the trees. The rooms are spacious with enormous beds, lovely balconies and bohemian decor. In some reviews people mentioned about the pool not being clean but that is definitely not the case as I saw the gardener clean it every morning, yes there are trees so some leaves might fall in but hardly any. The breakfast is lovely and fresh with a fantastic jam (honestly best jam I’ve ever had!), it’s not huge but we prefer not to eat too much in the heat, but the size is sufficient. You can always pay a bit extra to choose from several different breakfasts, I had the avocado toast with eggs and it was very nice :) The owner and staff are super really friendly and will go out of their way to help you, thanks for making our stay great! If only we could have hotel like this in all our destinations in Mexico ! Thankyou !

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The spacious colonial rooms boast the finest, but not pretentious, decor and come with the most modern amenities. They are also scattered around a peaceful garden which guarantees privacy and a good night's sleep. Delicious breakfast and the kindness of the staff complement a truly unique experience and a magical stay in Valladolid. The only problem is that you will never want to leave. Last but not least, the rates are ridiculously low for what you get. A real deal.

My wife and I spent 6 days last week in this lovely and beautiful hotel. This hotel started last month, so there was only 1 review. Suad and her staff were very friendly, kind and efficient. The rooms are very spaciousand clean. It has been a great pleasure to stay in this former renovated colonial house. I can recommend this place warmly
