Cocoon Salzburg

Cocoon Salzburg is much more than a hotel – it's a unique experience that beautifully blends nature, modern design, warmth, and genuine hospitality. We loved the peaceful atmosphere, especially the calming birdsong heard throughout the corridors, which added a special touch and perfectly reflected the hotel's philosophy. Their motto, "Give Yourself Time," displayed even on the elevator doors, beautifully symbolises a butterfly's cocooning journey and invites guests to slow down and enjoy the moment. The hotel was spotless, the staff were welcoming and attentive, and every detail felt thoughtfully designed. Breakfast was fresh, varied, and plentiful, with warm dishes, cold cuts, cheeses, fresh croissants, seeded breads, and fruit. We stayed here for three nights, splitting our stay between the beginning and end of our Salzkammergut holiday, before taking the train to Munich. It was the perfect place to both start and finish our Austrian adventure. I highly recommend Cocoon Salzburg to anyone looking for a stylish, cosmopolitan hotel with a youthful spirit, where contemporary comfort blends seamlessly with nature and tranquillity.

What we didn't like: Honestly, very little to mention. The only minor drawback is that the hotel does not have a full-service restaurant for lunch or dinner. There is, however, a lively bar area with a cheerful atmosphere and a casual taco bar, which may not suit guests looking for a more traditional dining experience within the hotel itself.

Good spread of breads, veggies, eggs, fruits and sweets in the included breakfast. Very close to the train station and the old city, perfect location. Clean rooms and mattress.

Sehr schönes und stylisches Hotel, Lage optimal in Nähe des Bahnhofs. Von dort aus fahren Busse zu allen möglichen Zielen in der Umgebung. Das Frühstück war wirklich hervorragend und gerade bei den momentan heißen Temperaturen war es super, daß man 1 Glasflasche Wasser ins Zimmer mitnehmen und jederzeit auffüllen konnte. Mir hat die Zimmerausstattung sehr gut gefallen und ich fand den Korbsessel super!

Nice hotel close to the station and also close enough to walk to all the main attractions. Staff very pleasant and helpful, room stylish, very comfortable and had everything we needed. Particularly liked that we could source hot water downstairs to make a cup of tea when we wanted. Loved the birds in the lift.

Food options were rather limited in the evening. Although close to alternative eating places it would have been nice to have a more comprehensive menu to chose from.

Die Lage ist am Hauptbahnhof sehr zentral und die Innenstadt zu Fuß bequem erreichbar! Allerdings ist die Gegend nicht die schönste! Das Haus selbst und die Zimmer sind schön und dennoch praktisch eingerichtet! Es gibt ein Green Concept hierbei meldet man die Zimmerreinigung für den Folgetag an der Rezeption an! Frische Handtücher kann man sich dort jederzeit holen was uns völlig gereicht hat! Das Personal war beim Check in sehr freundlich, die Zimmer haben eine gute Größe und sehr bequeme Betten!

Ich kann verstehen dass arbeiten auch Spaß machen soll, wenn sich aber das Personal vor kichern nicht einkriegt während sie sich um Gäste kümmern und ihr lustiges Gespräch dabei fortsetzen vergeht mein Verständnis! Ein bitte entschuldigen Sie aber wir hatte gerade eine sehr lustige Situation oder irgendetwas in der Art wäre das mindestes, schließlich kann ein Lachen immer passieren und ist ja auch etwas schönes wenn man sich unter Kolleginnen gut versteht aber eine gewisse Professionalität sollte dich gewahrt bleiben

Nära tågstationen. Vi fick en bussbiljett för hela vistelsen av hotellet som gällde för tåg och buss inom regionen. Detta såg vi själva på nätet och efterfrågade.

För tjocka täcken. Försökte byta men det var inte möjligt! Musiken som spelades i hela frukostdelen. Frukosten var plottrig!

Frühstücksservice war sehr schwach! Buffet lässt zu wünschen übrig. Die Dame aus der Küche war aber bemüht alles möglichst nachzufüllen! Aber der Service war nicht gut. Tische wurden nicht gleich abgeräumt wenn Gäste fertig waren, weil Personal sich lieber untereinander unterhielt! Oder sie sind an den schmutzigen Tischen sogar einfach vorbeigegangen! Nach unserer Bitte uns einen Tisch freizumachen, wurde dieser erst abgeräumt und sauber gemacht. Keine Löffel oder Zucker bei der Kaffeemaschine, donst fehlte auch viel. Unnötige und unverständliche Fehler! Hotel und Lage waren gut. Personal beim Frühstück sehr schlecht, wirklich ärgerlich!
