Benn Conger Inn

Love the Ben Conger! Very nice hotel and lots of history.

The crew was very welcoming and friendly and helpful! And the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was phenomenal. Overall, it was a really good place, and I would recommend!

We did have some problems with the doors of both the room and the restroom - They got stuck at times.

Benn Conger Inn is two adjacent facilities. The old house in the photo is the Benn Conger House; its neighbor is the Dempsey House. We stayed in the old house. It is a charming, well appointed Grande Dame evoking a rich, early 20th Century era no longer evident in the small community of Groton. Don't let the rural village deter you from this place. The public spaces are lovely, the rooms are spacious with nice beds. The plumbing fixtures are original but work just fine. The morning breakfast is not as fancy as some B&Bs but it offers the usual variety. We didn't look in Dempsey House. It is a much new renovated home, and I suspect less charming, but it appears to be nicely appointed. The location is about half way between Ithaca and Cortland and would be a nice place to be for folks visiting either, especially on college weekends.

Charming inn, feels like staying in a magical place full with history and fine decor. Great service and excellent breakfast.

The house was absolutely beautiful. Our room was very large and spacious. It was impeccably clean. The staff was so friendly and breakfast was wonderful. Just perfect!!
