Guest Reviews
- Sean (4/5): - The property is not in a nice or convenient area. There's no staff at the property. The rooms are dingy and dark.
- Yuqian (2/5): - Not good as I thought
- David (2/5): Don’t stay here - We tried to get access to our room, and never got codes to the door. This is not a hotel there was no access and they won’t give us a refund even tho we ended up not staying there because we couldn’t access our room.
- Ariana (10/5): - love my room and stay every time. Thank you!
- Ariana (10/5): - nice room & friendly service
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Price and location very good, near to buses and train station.
- Melanie (8/5): - Not as bad as a lot of the reviews I have seen. Overall, it was a good stay. Very budget friendly. Clean, comfortable bed pillows. Everyone there was friendly.
The only downfall was the noise. I was a little warm but not warm enough to turn the fan on so I opened the window. One of the surrounding houses was blasting music, even when shuting the windown, it was still very loud. You could also hear the traffic noise.
- Timothy Shane (10/5): - Loved the location. Quiet and comfortable.
- Stephanie (10/5): - I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about this booking but was pleasantly surprised. I arrived and easily got my key from the lock box. I reached out to the phone number provided 3 days before and was provided the information. I easily found street parking. When I walked in I looked at my husband and said “it smells good”. It smelled so fresh and clean. The room looked exactly like the pictures. We were provided a full size fridge in the room as well as soup, toothbrushes, and shampoo. There is a shared “vip lounge” which is a full kitchen and a beautiful patio. We went to universal studios each day and returned after midnight, grateful there was a 24/7 place to eat across the street which offered a vegan options. We will definitely stay here again. It was a pleasant surprise how quaint and humble this historic stay truly was. We felt completely safe, comfortable, and valued. This is now our go to whenever we visit LA.
- Vivian (10/5): - Very nice staff
- Curly (10/5): - The staff was very nice and friendly. I loved it I would recommend.
- Mia (2/5): - went to the property at check in time, no key in supposed lockbox. once called, they said they needed one hour to clean the room and made us wait in the hot ass heat. one hour turned into two and the room ended up not having ac. i thought we had a gym as said in the description, no gym. literally just a house. i mean, the person in charge was pre nice but the place was just run poorly.
- Jennifer (4/5): Friendly, Nice Bed, But Could Have Been Better - The Bed was nice and the manager, even though he barely knew English, was friendly, and the building was a nice old town relic of Los Angeles in great condition; But if it was not for the bathroom which had gnats (flying bugs) in the toilet and dead on the shower floor and for it being in the area that it settled in (it is in a gang area and I heard gun shots outside my window several times during the evening), the experience would have turned out better.
- Brian (2/5): Worst experience of my life - ruined birthday - Unconscionable! I returned to my room late Saturday night with a handwritten note to see the manager when I returned and that I needed to pay $90 cash. There was a lock on the door knob so I couldn’t get in.
Knocked on the managers door, he couldn’t tell me why I needed to pay $90, even when I showed him the receipt of my room from Hotels.com. He just smiled creepily & said he needed $90 cash.
When I asked him to call the property owner, he said it was too late. I asked him to just let me inside to gather my belongings, which included an expensive backpack and laptop computer, he refused and was just smiling the whole time. It was surreal to be dealing with this at 1:30am.
He said he would not call the owner, so I asked for the number and called her. Using my phone, over speaker phone, she explained that I had paid for the room and needed to be let back inside. She then went on to explain that it was another room that needed to be charged $75 cash for 5 hours (felt so weird that they were discussing business on my phone while I’m still waiting on to be let back into my room). The guy never apologizes, just gives me the weirdest smile. And unlocks the door.
Felt so filled with adrenaline at the prospect of either fighting, breaking the door, or having to deal with police that I couldn’t sleep. I actually barricaded the door in fear that the manager would enter while I slept.
To top it off, my leg was sliced by a bed spring popping through the mattress and it was my bday
- Olivia (10/5): The authentic experience of living in LA - Honestly the spot was so cozy. I enjoyed my stay there the people were friendly and helpful would definitely come back!
- james (6/5): - Very bare minimum but not terrible
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t waste your money - This is not a hotel. It is a rooming house at best. We booked the king bed suite, arrived and were given a box code for the key. The box was empty so we called management back and were given a different box code. That code did not work and eventually we were told the woman in the king suite decided to stay an additional night so we had to take the only room left which had a full size bed that looked like a child’s bed. The bathroom was extremely small, there was no air conditioning and we had to open windows to get some air. The place smelled like a cigarette when we first walked in. The room was dirty and needed a good washing down. The tv was too small for the room and there was no view of anything but the side of the building next door. We were told we were going to receive a total refund but have yet to receive it. Do not stay here. It looks like a crack house.
- Nicholas (10/5): - Close proximity to Dodgers stadium 🏟️
- Michael (10/5): - Really pleased with the property location and stay! Had a kitchen inside the room and the bed was comfortable.
- JulieM2884 (2/5): Worst place I have ever stayed - The worst place I have ever stayed. The owner did not answer phone when I arrived and key was not where it was supposed to be. Area unsafe. Man at bus stop was carrying a machete. Very noisy every night. View was of an alley way. Room very hot with a ceiling fan that did not cool the room. Socket power went off had to try and find someone to fix it. Front of drawer fell off when I opened it. Empty chip packets, 2 hand towels given for 6 day visit. No wardrobe no electric kettle. Venue is actually a building of one bedroom apartments with long stay residents with a couple of rooms put as hotel rooms, they are not.
- Julie (2/5): - Key not there when I checked in called owner no reply. Banged on door eventually someone answered and I was shown to my room and where the kitchen was. No wardrobe the room had half empty packets of chips the view was a alleyway. Tried to open a drawer and it fell off. No kettle, shower pressure not enough to wash my hair. 2 hand towels left for 6 day stay Area unsafe I was at a bus stop with a man carrying a machete. At night it was very noisy with loud music. Basically this is a group of one bedroom rooms mainly long stay residents. With a couple of rooms sold as hotel rooms. On Friday night socket power went off I sent a text to the owner this was answered 18 hours later I managed to find someone to sort it out. When I checked out I was given no instructions so left my key under the door of apartment 5 I believe the caretakers. This venue needs to be taken off Expedia it is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in across the world if you want photos and video I have plenty
- Cristina (2/5): - Never received code to get into building
- Verified traveler (2/5): PLEASE REFOUND!!! so terrible - It was different from the picture inside and outside. There was no hair dryer and no hot water and no basic aminity.
And I had booked a king bed, but it was a double bed.
We're very agree
I WANAA MY MONEY BACK
- jorge (4/5): - Prior to my arrival someone answered the number and hung up. I wasn’t able to do a early check in prior to my arrival. Day of arrival I get there and there’s no front desk. Just lockboxes on a metal gate outside. I knock on the security door no one opens. Thankfully a older man sees me and talks to me. I show him my reservation. He opens the lockbox and hands me my key. Tells me the room number. No parking in the busy LA street luckily i found one available. Got to room no privacy open cracks everywhere I am positive voyeurs could see.
- Adrian (2/5): Sketchy hideout - Let me start by saying, No AC. Deal breaker but that's just the beginning. If you're on the lamb or something, this is the place to be. That aside, no. This place is very misleading, I was supposed to get a suite, and got the smallest room ever, not sweet at all. Bitter in fact like the taste in my mouth after leaving this place. If comfort is your thing, stay clear of this place. If you're on the run maybe No one will come look for you here... ever
- Larry (6/5): Lousy - I was there only because it was close to LAX. No live tv, all programs were recorded outdated. Cleanliness was not up to par, had to ask for a maid to clean my room but never did.
