Super Mário Houses - Casa dos Moinhos

This house was as close to perfect as you will find. It was clean and spacious. It had a well stocked kitchen, and the outdoor bbq was great. The outdoor patio area was really nice and comfortable. We also used the back patio where the washing machine and close line were located. There are screens for all windows and doors so you can enjoy the freshness of the breeze without the bugs. The beds were comfortable with nice linens. Plenty of towels provided, including towels for the beach. The beach is a minute or two walk, and it is beautiful. There’s an exterior bathroom at the house to rinse off. The location of the house on the island is really good as well. A nice grocery store is a short drive away. Furnas is about 20 min away. We drove all over the island, and nothing was more than an hour away. The hosts were so nice, and left us a lovely basket of Azorean products to enjoy…pineapple, tea, bread, and beer…just to name a few. It was much appreciated. AThis really is the perfect beach house.

The location was perfect, just steps away from the beautiful Praia dos Moinhos. The house is situated in the center of the island, which makes it very easy to get around and explore all the great sights and attractions that the island has to offer.

This apartment had everything we needed. Extra blankets, pillows and towels as well as lots of pots, pans and dishes. We used this location as our base for a week and it was perfect. We explored the whole island from here. The hosts were exceptional and went out of their way to make sure we were all set. They even had a fire going for us on arrival. If you can’t find street parking, there is a parking lot around the corner. There is a great restaurant right next door that we frequented. Fresh fish almost every day ( they were closed on Tuesday but that might be seasonal). There is a nice beach just down the road.
