Pendleton House Historic Inn and B&B

We just returned from a two night stay at Pendleton House and highly recommend it. The beautiful historic 1920s mansion is like a trip back to an elegant bygone era, but with modern bathrooms! Only 2 blocks from the main downtown area and a block from the Arts Center. Jack is a charming host and prepares an excellent breakfast. Very enjoyable stay.

Jack, the host, is very generous with the amount of food served at breakfast. We stayed 5 days and never had the same meal twice. If you enjoy tea, I recommend the high tea. Jack makes a delicious variety of tea sandwiches served with pastries.

Our stay at Pendleton Historic Inn was wonderful. The inn, with its’s fascinating history, was extremely comfortable and welcoming. Innkeeper Jack could not have been more hospitable and accommodating. We enjoyed shopping downtown and with Jack’s recommendation had a delicious dinner at the Flying X. Breakfast at the inn was absolutely delicious! Thank you Jack for a lovely time at your inn. It’s obvious your heart and soul is invested.

Coming off the last leg of my six week very emotional road trip after my dad died, mom had a stroke and my back went completely out, I found Pendleton House and Jack. OMG. So welcoming, personable, communicative, very comfortable, cozy, quiet accommodations. I fell into a sleepy slumber. Jack helped me carry in/out my bags as to not aggravate my back. Breakfast the next morning was DELICIOUS. Damn.. sat at the lovely dining room table and chatted it up. Sharing stories as if we had known each other for years. Want to treat yourself? Stay here. Five Stars. Thank you Jack! See you again...

I checked in promptly at 3:00 and met Jack on the front porch. They were courteous and professional, and asked me about food limitations and drink choices regarding breakfast. I felt at home immediately. The deadbolt door code was easy to use, and my room and bath (The 1880 Room) were clean, cozy, and the bed was very comfortable. Before bed, I spent hours in the living room viewing the antique stereograph images, thinking, and reading in the disarming solitude of antiques and crystal chandeliers. I slept well. Jack's breakfast the next morning really hit the spot, and I enjoyed visiting with Jack and the other guests at the table with me. The quiet neighborhood felt safe, and many old homes nearby have history plaques for a nice history walk right out of the front door. The home's location on the edge of downtown was very convenient, only minutes away from many restaurants.

When Jack the owner says that arrival is between 3 and 6 PM, he is not joking! We were delayed on our trip from Sun Valley because we forgot a purse in Hailey ID and had to drive back from Mount Home ID. This caused us to be 3 hours late for arrival. We called and spoke to Jack around 3 PM and he said he would be there to let us in. When we arrived just before 9 pm, there was no answer at the door. We left three messages on his phone. No reply from Jack. He charged us full rate for the non-stay. So, don't be late!!!

Beautiful older home in need of DEEP CLEANING & FRESH PAINT. Very helpful & friendly owner there to meet our every need.Bedding & towels were clean & fresh. Very convenient to down town. It is a beautiful home.

We did not stay here after observing it sit on a hillside, no parking and the road angled so it was impossible for this 80 year old and his wife to get the luggage out of the car. The gentleman running the place realized it just wouldn’t work and offered to refund the money when I explained the dilemma. To date he has not refunded anything for the one night stay. I do not recommend anyone stay here.

If you're visiting Pendleton then you've got to stay at the Pendleton House. Why? First, ambiance, step into the parlor and you're transported back to the early 20th Century and it just gets better from there. The house is immaculate, every detail has been considered. The bedrooms are large, beds are very comfortable. Second, the breakfast is exceptional. Third, the location is so convenient to most everything in Pendleton--easy walk to downtown attractions and restaurants and finally the hosts are very gracious and well connected within the community with places to go and things to see. Great place.

Loved the bed & breakfast. Most of the shops in town were closed before 5 on Thursday.
