The National, Autograph Collection

My family and I revisited the National this last weekend. We had first visited 2 years ago and fell in love with the building. Who couldn't? Check in was quite sloppy. My Bonvoy loyalty wasn't mentioned, I had to bring up my benefits. I wasn't asked if I had brought a car, but I was charged all of the valet charges to my room. Fortunately it was a family member's car but I found this odd. They also added a 1-night valet to another member for a car that wasn't ours. We were there 4 nights. Valet overall was good, except for on Sunday night when we waited almost 30 minutes for our car. The people around us we heard missed their dinner reservations. The rooms are still lovely though a little car worn (scuffed walls). Cleaning wasn't stellar. There was black hair in my shower that was not mine and they never seemed to wipe down the table. The elevators also seemed quite dirty this time around. Unfortunately the Gilded Acorn was a total bust this time. It was the highlight of our last experience. Their online menu is totally different. The pastries are all very sad and don't taste too good either. The coffee, though slow, was fine. We also did the tea service. It was more aimed for instragrammers. The pastries were fine but nothing extraordinary. I do appreciate the theme and the butterbeer was delicious. Our server wasn't great. The preserves she brought us had already been opened. She was sorry. Yes, but that is a pretty big faux pas. Would we come back? Certainly. The hotel itself is just beautiful and you have to remind yourself that you're in a NYC or Chicago style building but with OKC service.

The property was very nice and the rooms were very clean

I only stayed one night but I left thinking this must be the best Marriott experience I have ever had based on the property and customer service. The gentleman who checked me in couldn't have been nicer. I explained I was driving for 10 hours with my dog and had a rough day. He was super kind, attentive and responsive, plus wanted to make sure I had a good stay. It was a really nice way to check in. The room was clean, view was good, noise was non-existent and I dined twice at the restaurant, which were great experiences as well. I also encountered a manager who stopped to hold the elevator for me. I appreciated the secure garage parking as well, which is one of the reasons I chose the hotel. Two days later I realized one of my belongings was missing and called the hotel. The gentleman who I spoke with was super kind, and assured me that he would continue to look for the item, then would contact me if it were found to discuss getting it back to me. I sincerely appreciated the concern and interest in taking time to talk to me and help with the situation (even though it was certainly my fault I was in a rush and misplaced things). It makes all the difference! I will definitely stay at this property again. I only wish I remembered the names of the two employees, since they truly displayed great customer service which is not super common anymore.

Stayed here for a long weekend and was genuinely impressed. The hotel nails that art deco vibe without being flashy—think clean lines, rich textures, and just the right amount of vintage charm. It’s got a quiet confidence to it, like it knows it’s stylish but doesn’t need to shout. The location is perfect. You can walk to most of downtown—restaurants, bars, museums, all within easy reach. But honestly, you might not want to leave the building. Stock & Bond, the on-site restaurant, is phenomenal. Great steaks, thoughtful cocktails, and service that hits that sweet spot between professional and warm. Speaking of service, the staff throughout the hotel were top-notch. Friendly without being overbearing, helpful without hovering. It’s the kind of place where you feel taken care of without being fussed over. If you’re looking for a stay that blends elegance, comfort, and convenience, this one’s hard to beat. Would absolutely return.

We went with a tour group. A beautiful hotel and was fascinated by the history of the hotel. Excellent staff, friendly, courteous and helpful. Nice amenities, very clean, the restaurants were all fabulous and delicious food. I’d highly recommend staying at the National! We enjoyed our stay.
