Wander Camp Glacier

We spent one night in Wander Camp Glacier. The offered tent was okay, but the toilets and showers weren’t clean at all. So we left the camp with mixed feelings. Not the best value for the money!

This place is taking advantage of the market around Glacier. They are charging motel rates for a primitive camping experience. Tents are old and worn. There is nothing there - just a field and some trees and some bushes. Picnic tables on the side of the road with no trees around - just sitting there in the hot sun. Suggestions: Don't allow check in after dark - we had people wandering around with flashlights trying to find their tents when we were trying to go to sleep. Car headlights shining in our tent. Noise. Don't face the tent doors toward the "road". Try to find level spots for the beds so our heads aren't lower than our feet. Fix the road going in to it - it is treacherous. Have someone on hand or at least a way to find or contact the camp host. The website says they offer amenities but there was nothing. Bathrooms less than a normal campground. Beds, sure. But big deal. Our own tent might have been more comfortable. Lanterns provided were dim and useless. No wifi. No one around other than for a few minutes when we first checked in. Really, a nice idea but not followed through, and ends up being a complete rip off.

Very rustic and just what I was looking for. Tent was warm, spacious, and had incredibly comfortable bedding. No outlets or wifi so expect to disconnect for your stay. Wish the check in area had a sign so it was clear. Had a great night.

We had a wonderful stay at Wander Camp Glacier. It was the perfect option as someone that loves to camp but is also not in my 20’s anymore and really appreciates an actual bed and not having to lug a tent around! Enjoyed the whole experience. Glamping at its finest and would totally love to stay here again. Cozy accommodations, clean bathrooms, calm and relaxing stay. It was enjoyable for all of us, including the dog !

Wander Camp Glacier is a hidden gem. After a long day hiking Glacier National Park, coming back to your private tent with an incredibly comfortable bed was exactly what we needed. Very off grid- the road to get there is unpaved and very bumpy, there is no electricity, this place mixes an authentic camping experience but is still very comfortable and cozy. One difficult aspect we experienced is that if there are any loud neighbors, you will overhear EVERYTHING. The camp has quiet hours, but of course not everyone will respect them. One night we were there we barely slept because of this... but the following night it was absolutely ideal. Waking up in the chilly morning to the sounds of nature snuggled in the soft comforter is the best.
