The Hotel Redland

The hotel was beautifully renovated and very clean and comfortable, and the price cannot be beat. I chose it for its access to both Biscayne and Everglades National Park, and it was about 15 minutes from the former and 20 from the entrance to the latter. The check-in was a little confusing, but access to the building is smooth and through two doors— both of which have outdoor stairs, so be advised of that. Each room has its own air conditioner and ours was clean, spacious, and included its own fridge and microwave. There is a designated parking lot, which was very convenient. The hotel is historic and has a very interesting sign outside. The downstairs bistro had great martinis as promised, and we walked to both of our dinner spots which were both also delicious! Highly, HIGHLY recommend this place! We would highly recommend

On the way to Islamorada from a late night flight so the location seemed like a good choice

The location seemed like the thoroughfare for motorcycles and police sirens the night of our stay and the rooms are right above the bistro that has a band until 11 pm So pls check before you go Might not be the best nights sleep if u need to be on the road early

The room was clean and cozy. The room was pretty small but that wasn't a huge issue. The beds were twin and were somewhat comfortable. Other than that there wasn't much more I liked.

The hotel had no office that you could check-in at. Someone in the attached restaurant had to call the lady (Christine) that apparently runs the place for the owner. There was no phone in the room to contact anyone. If I had a question or issue I had to go down to the restaurant so they could call Christine or I could knock on her door. She stayed in room 207. They provided a coffee pot but you had to buy coffee from a vending machine. Had to fiddle with the TV for 20 minutes to get it to work. They said they had Wi-fi but my pad couldn't seem to locate it. There was no shelf in the shower. Soap, shampoo and conditioner had to be put on the floor when you were done with it.

We had stayed at this hotel a few years ago and it had been a pleasant experience-see my previous review.However things had changed-a new owner had taken over. -We arrived at the hotel for a two day stay it was completely locked.I had missed an e-mail sent the day before telling me that access was via a lockbox with keys inside. -There was no reception desk.Infact we could not find anyone in the building.To all intents and purposes we were the only people in the building. -No telephone in the room -While there was a coffee pot and two paper cups in the room there was no coffee,milk or sugar.We bumped into the one housekeeping lady a few hours later and were told we would have to buy our own as this was not a "full service hotel" -We were encouraged to climb an outside fire escape to access the building as all the bedrooms were on the second floor and a Bistro with a separate owner had the first floor. -A cleaning fee was added prior to our arrival.I have never seen this added as a normal charge in a hotel before.This hotel was being run like an Airbnb.If I had wanted an Airbnb I would have booked one -Overall very disappointed. -Finishing on a positive note.Christina the one housekeeping lady kept the rooms and beds very clean and the mattress while old was comfortable

The property was adorable! It was a historic building in downtown homestead and the architecture was so charming. There were also 2 cats that lived around the building that we got to see every night. Parking was always available in the back lot and the check in/check out system was very flexible and convenient for us.

There was only 1 entrance to the parking lot and if you missed your turn you had to make a lap around downtown homestead. It’s not a huge inconvenience but if you could mention in the check-in info which street to approach from and what side the parking lot is on that would make things a little easier.

Very central to a lot of things! Able to easily walk to multiple restaurants as well as having the martini bar down stairs. Staff was very nice and quick to take care of needs/clean up mess/bring towels/etc.

Was a little difficult to find the lockbox at the beginning of the stay and it was a little disconcerting that all the room keys were in one box together so anyone could grab your room key before you… also when we came in to the room there was a pile of dead flies near patio door. Could use more/better parking. When we arrived there was no parking, but there was 4 to 5 sets of room keys still in the lockbox so hotel wasn’t even filled and there wasn’t enough parking.

Loud music played until 11 pm followed by talking in the hallway and loud sounds. The room was not dark, no coffee provided,

No breakfast. There was a bistro downstairs, however, that had very good dinners.

Towels were paper thin. The inn was hard to find and had an extra charge for cleaning. Poor internet connection and not strong enough for a TV connection.
