The Carter inn

What a GEM!! Rooms were well kept with new bathrooms, place was quiet, home-cooked breakfast in the mornings with house made bread (sourdough), fresh scones or other goodie, fresh fruit bowl, jams, jellies...OH MY we ate too much but it was SO GOOD!! Kenny & Christa are AMAZING hosts & make you feel right at home! Tensleep is beautiful & when we go back we will DEFINITELY be staying there!!

The bed was very comfortable, room was super clean and welcoming. The home cooked breakfast was top-notch and visiting with the owners and other guests was lovely. I plan to return for sure, this place is a great find.

This is a great location if you are doing several National Parks around the area.

This is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed in a small town. There are a lot of little amenities that made our stay just that much better. We will stay here every time.

We are traveling across the country and The Carter Inn is the best place we've stayed! The owners provide many lovely details that made our stay extra special, from homemade cookies to little treats in our room, to a delicious breakfast with multiple kinds of fresh baked bread, fruit, sausage, and eggs made to order. All of that and the room was extra clean and comfortable. 10/10!
